We're looking for an Aftermarket Technical Engineer to support our Service Division, providing technical engineering expertise across the full lifecycle of Service tooling, from documentation and design through parts management, field support, and training. This role manages engineering records for Service tooling assets and serves as a key technical connector linking field and customer needs to Engineering, Metrology, Sourcing, Operations, and Field Service.

What You'll Do:

• Manage engineering records, including bills of materials, sourcing requirements, and manufacturability, for Service tooling assets ranging from small electronics to large machined fixtures, including casing and crating for international shipments
• Create part numbers for new parts and kits, and support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to update or create BOMs
• Order parts and kits for equipment without existing part numbers, including new Field Service Engineer kits
• Design or update equipment cases, feeding into associated ECN and BOM updates
• Coordinate spare parts ordering in partnership with Subject Matter Experts in the Metrology Lab
• Develop specifications, designs, and drawings using sound engineering principles and MTS standards, procedures, and instructions
• Provide documentation for custom or standard projects, including models, drawings, assemblies, and BOMs, using the CAD system in accordance with MTS CAD Best Practices
• Verify completed work by checking dimensions, BOMs, materials, quantities, processing information, and adherence to best practices
• Coordinate with equipment design and application engineering teams to ensure safe and suitable tool design and use for repair, calibration, and refurbishment
• Assist with diagnosis and engineering evaluation of mechanical, electrical, and measurement and testing tools when elevated technical support is required
• Serve as a technical connector across the full lifecycle of field support, from field and customer need through application review, manufacturability, sourcing and planning, engineering coordination, and deployment through Operations
• Partner with the Technical Services team, Tech Support, and FSE trainers on tooling requirements, repairs, and validation materials
• Support special projects and other engineering related service initiatives as assigned

What You Bring:

• Experience with CAD systems, including modeling, drawing creation, and assemblies, and adherence to formal CAD standards and revision control
• Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and tooling design
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings and specifications
• Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills, including creating technical content for end users
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Metrology, Sourcing/Planning, Operations, and Field Service
• Ability to travel occasionally to support field driven engineering issues or special projects
• Prior experience supporting a Service or Aftermarket organization (repair, refurbishment, or field service environment) preferred
• Experience creating or managing part numbers and spare parts/kit ordering processes preferred
• Experience developing technical training materials or service documentation preferred
• Familiarity with export control or Licensed Official requirements preferred
• Experience working directly with Metrology labs or calibration processes preferred

Compensation Information:

The compensation for this position ranges from $101,000-$160,000 based on relevant education and experience.
