Sr. IT Manager - Transformation & Resiliency

The Sr. IT Manager, Transformation & Resiliency leads Pillar 3—the Velocity & Recovery Engine of our Enterprise Technology Platforms organization. This role is responsible for modernizing operational capabilities through automation, DevOps enablement, AIOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and enterprise resiliency architecture. The leader will drive the evolution toward autonomous, fault‑tolerant, and intelligence‑driven enterprise operations.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

What you will do:

Automation, DevOps & Resiliency Engineering

• Lead engineering and automation for operational platforms, enabling secure, scalable, automated resiliency.
• Build and advance AIOps for predictive incident detection, intelligent event correlation, and automated remediation.
• Establish DevOps foundations, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards, CI/CD pipelines, configuration automation, and reusable patterns.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Automation, DevOps & Resiliency Engineering

• Lead the engineering and automation of enterprise operational platforms, ensuring scalable, secure, and automated resiliency capabilities following an automation‑first platform mandate.
• Design and mature AIOps capabilities including machine learning‑driven event correlation, predictive incident detection, and automated remediation.
• Drive DevOps enablement by establishing IaC standards, CI/CD pipelines, configuration automation, and reusable operational patterns.
• Engineer resilient architectures for critical systems, integrating resiliency principles with enterprise platform design and governance expectations.

 

Operations Architecture, SRE & Observability

• Own Operations Architecture across infrastructure and application tiers, ensuring consistent, governed, and scalable design patterns aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Lead SRE strategy including metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, SLO definition, incident analysis, and operational tooling modernization.
• Oversee observability strategy in coordination with Pillar 1’s platform observability functions, ensuring integrated visibility across pillars.

 

Governance, Standardization & Automation Frameworks

• Establish and enforce resiliency‑focused governance frameworks and automation standards.
• Implement automated controls, auditable operational workflows, and codified resiliency patterns that reduce operational variance.
• Ensure transformational initiatives maintain alignment with architecture governance, compliance expectations, and platform lifecycle principles.

 

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor engineers, automation specialists, SREs, architects, and technical leaders across Pillar 3.
• Translate enterprise resiliency goals into executable roadmaps, engineering plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate deeply across Enterprise Technology Platform organization, Product teams, and Cybersecurity to ensure integrated, cohesive, and reliable end‑to‑end platform and operations capabilities.
• Champion a product‑centric and automation‑centric mindset that enhances developer experience, operational efficiency, and enterprise stability

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 12+ years of IT experience, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role.
• Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of related experience is required.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale IT infrastructure and software development projects and teams.
• Extensive expertise in enterprise datacenter management and cloud-based services.
• Possess an understanding of hypervisors, automation/orchestration of Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)  cloud services.
• Experience managing hybrid cloud services.
• Successful, progressive leadership experience working in a highly-matrixed environment.
• Demonstrated success recruiting, building, developing, coaching, and retaining a highly-motivated, high-performing workforce.
• Demonstrated success implementing successful long-term planning while adapting to immediate changing customer demands.
• Extensive expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and modern web technologies.
• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous deployment processes- Experience with Cloud CI/CD approaches using Azure Devops or GitHub.
• Scripting – One of following: bash, PowerShell, Python, AWS cli, Azure cli.
• Leader of IT Service Management best practices such as ITIL.
• Design and enforce Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Advanced certifications such as ITIL Master, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer, or similar.
• Extensive experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Experience managing a team of 6+ individual contributors.
• Experience defining and executing a cloud strategy, including hybrid cloud orchestration and automation.
• Demonstrated experience in the improvement of IT continuity framework and IT continuity plans.
• Demonstrated experience exercising strong project management and project delivery methodologies.
• Experience defining a configuration and optimization strategy and for infrastructure components, including the alignment of infrastructure decisions with the overarching business and IT strategies.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
• Must be able to work on a computer for most of the work shift.
• Strong hand/finger dexterity for computer tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.
• Travel may be required up to 25%.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $165,010.21 - $226,889.04. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
