One World Observatory (OWO)

One World Observatory, positioned atop One World Trade Center, offers 360-degree views of the New York skyline from the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Visitors are invited start their journey to the top in the SkyPod™ Elevators that depict the rise of NYC in just 47 seconds, experience the sights and sounds of the city in the See Forever™ Theater or discover something new from the Observatory's team of tour guides at City Pulse. The space also features ONE Dine, a view restaurant and bar, offering elevated American cuisine and a selection of beers, wines, and specialty cocktails. The private event space, ASPIRE at One World Observatory, offers 9,000 square feet of private event space with unparalleled views for up to 450 guests.  

THE ROLE

The Observatory Ambassador is a dynamic, interactive role within the Observatory with a specific focus on the guest experience and how the guest relates to the Observatory offerings. This position plays an integral role in providing the NYC area as well as national and international guests with unique, memorable experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greeting guests as they enter assigned areas
• Ensure the safety of our guests while on tour or in assigned areas
• Providing a high level of customer service by engaging guests, answering questions, resolving issues, and providing service to ensure a great experience
• Retaining learned knowledge and subsequently share it with guests by providing operational answers (e.g., observatory layout, experience locations) to all inquiries
• Performing and presenting information in a concise, audible manner to guests—speaking loudly, clearly, and having a commanding presence
• Performing other duties as necessary or as required by management

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year’s experience hosting in a guest-facing role (e.g., entertainment, hospitality)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Multi-lingual and sign language capabilities preferred
• Energetic and outgoing personality
• Sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including constant reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
• Ability to always demonstrate a high level of professionalism and customer service
• Ability to engage guests and work in a busy, highly interactive environment
• Ability to memorize historical and technical information
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-20 pounds (occasionally 30)
• Ability to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary)

COMPENSATION

$21 per hour + a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401(k) plan.
