Overview
The Sr Mgr, Leadership and Organizational Development develops and manages the implementation of talent development initiatives that improve business performance, foster retention and develop team members. The incumbent is responsible for companywide competency development, performance management, succession planning, leadership and organizational development. The Sr Mgr, Leadership Development will partner with senior leadership and business partners to deliver leadership development programs and tools to meet the current and future business needs. This individual will be responsible for assessing the competencies and skills needed of team members to fulfill company objectives and to make sure development programs are implemented to satisfy the development of these needed skills. In addition, this individual will have proven consultation and influencing skills in a business environment.
Responsibilities
Develops and manages the implementation of leadership and talent development solutions including, but not limited to: performance management, management and leadership development, change management, competency development, and succession planning.
Provides strategic, functional expertise, thought leadership and coaching as an active member of the Leadership Team.
Develops and defines effective and efficient training methods to provide the necessary skills and competencies to optimize team member proficiency.
Ensures an ongoing process exists to continuously enhance the knowledge and capability of supervisors to effectively lead the organization toward achievement of corporate objectives and strategic initiatives.
Develops and executes a strategic plan for leadership and organizational development for the organization. Oversees national PAL, regional and business unit leaders to customize learning programs for their business needs/markets.
Assesses impact of training programs, methodologies and processes. Provides process improvements to ensure alignment of PDS and its affiliated practices.
Acts as a Liaison between Field Operations and works with Department Heads to implement new procedures and best practices at the field level with concurrent accountability.
Develops and conducts effective training & meetings.
Creates Leadership and Management Development Programs and platforms.
Develops Mentoring programs as part of Succession Planning and retention.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, or related field. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience is required.
8+ years of working in a professional experience, of those 4+ years of experience within a leadership role.
5+ years of experience in Leadership and Organizational Development environment
Familiarity with Workday and Cornerstone or other Talent Management Platforms.
Preferred
15 + years of experience working in a corporate environment.
Master’s degree in related field
Previous experience in Retail/Healthcare/Dental industry is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Exceptional leadership ability, a relationship builder, advisor, influencer and a results-oriented change agent with demonstrated skills in effectively building support at all levels.
Knowledge of classroom facilitation and application of adult learning theory principles.
Experience managing, coaching and mentoring subordinates and teams.
Demonstrated ability to conduct needs assessments, create and deliver training products and benchmark results.
Ability to create leadership development programs.
Ability to create management development programs including new manager 101.
Knowledge of various talent models, methodologies.
Analytical skills to synthesize complex or diverse information. Ability to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
Ability in planning, developing, implementing and evaluation of leadership and management programs to meet needs of a variety of team member categories and departments.
Strong abilities in managing the daily operations of department(s) or work unit while developing long term (3-5 years) goals.
Strong strategic thinking abilities to understand and process complex information and exercise sound judgement.
Outstanding leadership skills; plus exceptional time management and prioritization abilities. Dedication to personal development and education.
Well organized and resourceful; effective and efficient at marshaling multiple resources to get things done.
Attack everything with drive and energy with an eye on the bottom line; not afraid to initiate action before all the facts are known; drive to finish everything he/she starts.
Ability to build trust with those requiring coaching, create a win/win need for change, and recognize and celebrate improvement to sustain change.
Possesses "big picture" perspective and able to accomplish that through proper level of articulation across team.
