Here's what we're looking for:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Mobile Engineering Manager with a background in leading mobile teams in high-volume, customer-facing environments. Ideally, you bring expertise in deploying high-performance on-device ML models and building reusable modular components across multi-app ecosystems. In this role, you will balance hands-on technical execution (~75% architecture, coding, and technical leadership) with people management (~25% mentorship and performance development) to scale our mobile strategy and foster team growth.
Travel: ~10% required
Your upcoming mission:
Team Leadership & Development
Build, mentor, and manage a group of mobile engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
Conduct performance and compensation reviews, support career development, and design growth plans for team members
Have regular 1-on-1 check-ins and feedback conversations
Actively participate in staffing and budgeting proposals, and conduct interviews as the Hiring Manager
Partner with all functions to remove roadblocks and support the team's delivery
Communicate the impact of your teams' work to relevant stakeholders
Technical Leadership
Provide hands-on technical guidance in mobile app development, architecture, and optimization
Ensure adherence to best practices including coding standards, testing, and deployment processes
Drive quality assurance practices including code reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines
Monitor and optimize application performance, stability, and user experience through analytics and feedback
Project Management & Delivery
Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of mobile development efforts within agreed timelines and budgets
Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize features
Track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
Regulatory & SaMD Release
Contribute to the release process of Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., MDR, FDA)
Collaborate with regulatory affairs, quality, and clinical teams to meet documentation and traceability requirements
Ensure development processes align with IEC 62304 and other relevant standards for medical device software
Support risk management activities and maintain audit-readiness across your teams
Strategy & Innovation
Stay current with trends, technologies, and tools in mobile development
Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to improve user experiences, application performance, and operational efficiency
Contribute to the organization's mobile strategy with insights and recommendations
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align engineering efforts with business goals
Enable knowledge sharing across teams and platforms
Essential skills for your mission:
Deep hands-on mobile development experience with a strong understanding of system architecture
Experience in running high-performance on-device ML models in production
Proven track record in designing and building reusable, module, components for multi-app ecosystems.
Proven experience mentoring one or more engineering teams
Ability to balance technical leadership with people management
Track record of delivering complex mobile projects on time
Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
A mindset of continuous improvement and innovation
Experience working within regulated environments, ideally with SaMD or medical device software (IEC 62304, MDR, or FDA guidelines) is a plus.

In Austria, we have a legal obligation to disclose the minimum salary according to our collective agreement, which is gross EUR 3.843 - per month for this position. But!
