Activities & work procedures for the Middle Office
(Backing a Middle Office representative)
Solving problems and supporting assistance regarding settlement and reporting in coordination with the Spanish middle-, back- and front office as well as the customer support in Madrid
Contact person for customers concerning securities, bonds, FX, derivates, structured products and equity settlement and processing issues that might arise
Responsible for the analysis and evaluation of the monthly financial report for Global Markets Unit Germany
Analysis of P&L/Sources of revenue
Controlling trade data input in our booking systems and processing the counterparties claims
Communication with the customers and editing client complaints on the phone or email correspondence. Forwarding to/ coordinating with the responsible department in Madrid
Documentation and implementation of the financial transactions done by the trading department
Finalization of trade confirmations
First point of contact for clients Middle-Offices to coordinate Settlement tasks
Contact person for Madrid (onboarding team) for all client on-boarding and re-papering topics. Contact person for clients regarding re-papering/on-boarding measures.
Supporting the Global Markets Sales team preparing presentations and client meetings
Assistance in the organization and planning of roadshows and conferences in Germany / Netherlands / Nordics and Spain in cooperation with the marketing department in Madrid
willingness to travel in the region we cover to physically coordinate roadshows (3-4 times p.a.)
Responsible for checking hotel rates and availabilities for client events
Qualifications & Professional Experience
Academic background: A completed university degree is preferred, ideally in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a comparable field.
Professional experience: A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in securities settlement and/or securities operations is mandatory. Experience within a Global Markets, Middle Office, Back Office, or comparable capital markets environment is highly desirable.
Systems & tools: Practical experience with financial markets booking, trading, and processing systems such as Tradeweb, Markit, Murex, STAR, or comparable platforms would be a strong advantage. Experience with Bloomberg or similar financial market information and analytics tools is also highly desirable.
Product knowledge: Sound understanding of securities and financial markets products and their settlement processes, ideally including bonds, FX, derivatives, structured products, and equities.
Languages: Fluency in both Spanish and English, written and spoken, at a professional/negotiation level is required. German language skills would be an advantage.
Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to work effectively across Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Operations, and client-facing functions in an international environment.
Communication skills: Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients as well as internal teams across different locations and functions.
