Job Title
Project EngineerPosition Overview
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development for a team of maintenance mechanics supporting daily plant operations.
- Establish priorities and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Monitor maintenance performance metrics and reliability initiatives.
- Assist with root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions for equipment and process failures.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance personnel to improve equipment performance and plant efficiency.
- Support spare parts management, equipment criticality assessments, and long-term asset reliability strategies.
- Develop, justify, and execute capital and expense projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, environmental performance, and reliability.
- Prepare project scopes, budgets, schedules, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and project installations while ensuring compliance with Shaw safety and environmental requirements.
- Track project expenditures and communicate progress to plant leadership.
- Oversee equipment commissioning, startup, and project closeout activities.
- Maintain project documentation in accordance with corporate engineering standards.
- Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing and maintenance teams.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, utility, and process-related issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, energy savings, and increased equipment reliability.
- Support TPM, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience leading maintenance personnel, contractors, or technical teams.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and support plant needs outside normal working hours when required.
- Experience leading maintenance personnel, contractors, or technical teams.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with project management.
- Knowledge of TPM, Reliability Engineering, and Preventive Maintenance systems.
- Experience with industrial automation, PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and process controls.
- 2D and 3D Modeling experience.
- Continuous process manufacturing experience.
