Job Description Summary
The Senior Specialist, Treasury serves as a subject matter expert within the Treasury group, performing treasury and cash management functions. Applies financial knowledge and judgment to diverse and complex activities to validate the integrity of treasury functions. Responsibilities
Identify, coordinate, and oversee cross-treasury and financial operations projects across Treasury Operations, Accounts Payable, and Travel & Expense.
Recommend and lead initiatives focused on process efficiencies, system upgrades and enhancements, testing, automation, reporting improvements, and operational risk reduction.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with leaders, management, and cross-functional partners to implement policies and procedures, support business goals, and resolve issues effectively.
Mentor team members and share treasury operations expertise to support knowledge transfer, skill development, and department effectiveness.
Serve as a subject matter expert for cash management and daily treasury operations, including the Treasury Workstation, wire systems, funding, short-term investments, efficiency strategies, asset safeguards, and cost minimization.
Review and understand assigned processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop effective solutions to ensure successful implementation, operational efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with business needs.
Perform treasury operations processes with accuracy and efficiency in a tight deadline environment
Partner with business and IT to create business requirements documents (BRDs) and procedural documentation.
Demonstrate ownership, initiative, accountability, and sound judgment while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Apply knowledge of wire processing rules, payment requirements, and banking practices to support accurate and compliant transaction execution.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex treasury, banking, payment, AP, T&E, and file transmission issues in partnership with banks, technology teams, and internal business partners.
Develop, maintain, and improve procedures, reporting, metrics, and operational controls to support a scalable and well-controlled payment environment.
Maintain awareness of evolving treasury, banking, payment, AP, and expense management standards, including ISO 20022-related changes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
Ten years of treasury or relevant experience
In-depth knowledge of treasury operations
Strong analytical and ability to resolve complex problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Advanced computer skills in MS Excel and financial business systems
Preferred Qualifications
Banking, insurance, annuity, retirement services, or broader financial services industry experience.
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation preferred.
Experience with treasury workstations, workflow tools, enterprise resource planning systems, system upgrades, testing, user acceptance testing, or implementation of treasury tools.
Treasury banking knowledge or experience, including bank products, account structures, file transmissions, cash management services, and ISO 20022 payment messaging standards.
Experience with short-term investment functions, including money market funds, commercial paper, or other short-term investment vehicles.
Experience supporting internal controls, SOX compliance, audit readiness, or risk mitigation activities within treasury, banking, accounts payable, or financial operations.
Project leadership experience involving cross-functional stakeholders, technology teams, and external banking partners.
Working Conditions
Hybrid (In office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays)
Occasional travel for business meetings and industry conferences (<10%)
Periods of peak workload may require extended hours
