Key Activities for the position
• Operates the FA functions as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Active participation in projects and transitions, where they are identified as key expert or key team member.
• Oversee all the FA functions; continually develops low cost, effective transactional systems and reporting
• Comply with Corporate Policies and Values
• Manage the operational activities to include: staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals. Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department
• Analyze and document business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies
• Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems
• Coordinate with HR Partner for appropriate staffing levels
• Schedule and conduct department meetings
• Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals
• Responsible to contribute in achieving the metrics defined in the SLA.
• Responsible to detect, analyze and escalate all process and tasks that are not working properly or need to be improved
• Keeping a smooth communication process with Local Entities and HQ. Become a key Point of Contact for stakeholders
• Responsible to monitor the effectiveness of controls included in the processes under their review (including Internal controls)
• Coordinate the activities of the team members
• Coaching and training of his/her team members
• Manage team resources (leaves, exams, vacations)
• Set up goals and discuss performances with Team Leads
• Work on succession plans (detect potential candidates and develop strategies)
• Responsible of delivery of the process KPI
• Responsible to keep up to date the SLA closing checklist and control lists
• Key team member or leader in projects and transitions
• Develop and measure of metrics to control the project
• Detect improvement opportunities to trigger off new projects
• Participate and/or coordinate teams with the objective of writing, updating and defining Policies
• Be actively part of the recruiting process for new employees
• Design and develop training programs on as needed basis
• Implement control mechanisms to ensure the loading of key contract data into the system and ensuring the data management update.
• Ensures appropriate assessment of lease contracts as per IFRS16
• Analyze and document business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies related to IFRS16
• Ensure accurate calculation, recording and reporting of ROU
Basic Qualifications
• College graduate or close to graduation as Certified Public Accountant or Business Administration Bachelor (preferable)
• Five years of previous experience in FA Process activities in SSC
• Computer skills – Microsoft office & Knowledge of Oracle
• Bilingual in Spanish & English.
Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and direct projects in a complex business environment.
• Must be self-motivated, and both detail and process oriented
• Systems analysis and accounting theory and practice
• Knowledge of Millicom’s business processes, personnel, and information systems
• Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with multiple levels of management
• Ability to analyze and summarize data and draw meaningful conclusions
• Demonstrated quality and efficiency thinker. Manage innovation well.
• Role model. Team member developer. Confronts high-tension situations comfortably
• Knowledge of Millicom’s policies and procedures
• ERP knowledge (Oracle, SAP, Dynamics)
• IFRS16 Lease Tool Knowledge (Nakisa or similar)
• Strong Knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IASs), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and USGAP (United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
