As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will join a cross-functional team dedicated to building seamless software solutions for our customers. You will collaborate effectively with your team to deliver exceptional solutions that meet customer needs. You will take full ownership of applications throughout their lifecycle, from design through to operation.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Create and document architectural decisions (ADRs) and contribute to software design and technical solution development.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality applications using Java, Spring, and microservices architecture.
- Promote DevOps practices and contribute to automation across development, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Collaborate on deployment strategies, release processes, and CI/CD implementation.
- Ensure code quality, security, performance, monitoring, and operational excellence across solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation, process improvements, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong experience across the full SDLC, including requirements analysis, planning, software design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring, and microservices architecture.
- Proven experience applying software engineering best practices, design patterns, and software craftsmanship principles.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platform services, monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of the Testing Pyramid and quality-focused development practices.
- DevOps mindset with experience driving automation and operational improvements.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding environments (e.g. Kiro or similar agents).
- Understanding of how to structure prompts, workflows, or skills for engineering productivity.
- Experience building or customising AI agents or automation workflows is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in complex environments.
