Global Commodity Buyer – Corporate Real Estate
Location: Monterrey, Mexico (Global Scope)
Reports to: Indirect Procurement Commodity Manager
Department: Global Indirect Procurement
Role Overview
The Global Corporate Real Estate Cmdty Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of real estate-related services, construction projects, facility management contracts, leases, and associated vendor agreements. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing, compliance with company policies, risk mitigation, and the delivery of high-quality services that support business objectives.
In this global role, you will define and execute the procurement strategy for Corporate Real Estate, ensuring full alignment with FLS’s business objectives and driving value creation, innovation, and sustainability throughout the supply base.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement the annual procurement strategy for Corporate Real Estate in line with global business goals.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, innovation and risk mitigation.
- Lead cross-functional category councils and governance forums to ensure procurement initiatives support business priorities.
Sourcing & Project Execution
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for real estate and facilities-related categories.
- Lead competitive bidding processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP) for real estate services and projects.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, contractors, consultants, and service providers.
- Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and industry trends.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations throughout sourcing activities.
- Promote supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives in all sourcing processes
Contract & Supplier Management
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle—drafting, negotiation, execution, and renewal.
- Implement supplier performance management frameworks with defined KPIs and SLAs.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Operational Excellence
- Optimize procurement processes and tools to enhance efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with internal functions to enable seamless procurement operations.
- Track and report on procurement performance, savings, and compliance metrics.
Cost Optimization & Risk Management
- Deliver savings and value-generation initiatives.
- Assess and mitigate commercial, operational, and contractual risks.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Support sustainability and ESG objectives within the supply base.
Key Interfaces
- Partner with Real Estate, Facilities, Finance, Legal, and Business Units to understand requirements.
- Provide procurement guidance throughout project lifecycles.
- Support site acquisitions, lease negotiations, renovations and workplace projects.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Real Estate, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
5- 7+ years of procurement, sourcing, real estate, facilities management, or construction purchasing experience.
Strong understanding of CRE market needs directly connected with broader social networking with CRE Companies and/or specific targeted Suppliers.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Experience managing RFPs and strategic sourcing projects.
Proficiency in procurement and ERP systems (D365, Oracle, Coupa, etc.).
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience in a global matrix organization preferred.
