The Sr. Director, Radiopharmaceutical Dosimetry & Radiobiology will be responsible for applying their deep expertise in radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT) dosimetry, Monte Carlo-based dose calculation, and radiobiology to drive innovation and ensure the highest standards in both preclinical and clinical programs. The Sr. Director will join the Nuclear Oncology Physics and Radiation Biophysics team in leading and coordinating internal dosimetry activities across multidisciplinary teams, overseeing translational dosimetry analysis from discovery through clinical development, connecting absorbed dose to biological response, and managing collaborations with internal stakeholders, external vendors, academic partners, and scientific consortia. The ideal candidate will execute conventional RPT dosimetry approaches with ease, pioneer patient-level and multi-scale dose calculation methods, contribute to protocol, standards, and strategy development, and provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training, all while championing quality practices and regulatory compliance in the adoption of novel radioisotopes and modeling approaches, including for alpha-emitting radiotherapeutics.
Job Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of internal dosimetry, absorbed dose calculation, and dose–response analysis in the discovery and development of radiopharmaceutical imaging and/or therapeutic agents.
- Initiate, design, and execute dosimetry strategies for preclinical and clinical studies, including dosimetry protocol and workflow development, imaging-to-dose analysis plans, uncertainty evaluation, and clinical trial reporting.
- Direct advanced, patient-level dosimetry methods derived from quantitative imaging modalities (e.g., PET, SPECT, CT), including voxel-level and Monte Carlo-based dose calculation, time-activity integration, pharmacokinetic and compartmental modeling, and translation of dosimetry from animal to human.
- Establish and champion multi-scale dosimetry approaches (organ, voxel, cellular, and sub-cellular) to characterize dose heterogeneity and biological effect, with particular emphasis on alpha-emitting radiotherapeutics.
- Integrate dosimetry with radiation biology by partnering with biology and translational teams to link absorbed dose to biological response, informing dose selection, combination strategies, and therapeutic window optimization.
- Oversee and optimize dosimetry data quality control, including standardization, calibration, validation against physical measurement, and quality assurance aligned with current industry guidelines, technical standards, and literature.
- Innovate and implement new dose calculation platforms and modeling approaches to enhance therapeutic efficacy and radiopharmaceutical development, including for novel radioisotopes (e.g., alpha-emitters).
- Evaluate, manage, and support relationships with dosimetry software vendors, CROs, external investigators, academic collaborators, and government agencies, leveraging experience in dosimetry software development and clinical translation.
- Represent the company in professional societies, standards bodies, and consortia shaping dosimetry guidelines and best practices for radiopharmaceutical therapy.
- Provide expert technical support, training, and mentorship to cross-functional teams, building internal dosimetry and radiation science capability across the organization.
- Contribute to regulatory activities, including dosimetry sections of regulatory submissions, and to the advancement of medical physics knowledge in radiopharmaceuticals.
- Communicate complex dosimetry, radiation transport, and radiobiology topics clearly and concisely to internal and external scientific stakeholders.
- Organize, prioritize, and deliver on corporate timelines in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment with minimal supervision.
- Maintain professional ethics, integrity, leadership, and confidentiality, and stay current with global dosimetry guidelines and advances in radiopharmaceutical science.
- Leverage AI to drive program, portfolio, or functional performance through prioritization and scaled adoption
Basic Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Medical Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related discipline, with didactic training in radiation transport and internal dosimetry.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading radiopharmaceutical dosimetry programs across academic, clinical, and/or industry settings, including cross-functional and matrixed collaboration.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in dosimetry for radiopharmaceutical therapeutics in oncology, spanning preclinical and clinical applications; experience with alpha-emitters strongly desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Medical Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field.
- Recognized professional standing in the radiopharmaceutical therapy dosimetry community (e.g., fellowship in a professional society, leadership of task groups, working groups, or technical standards committees).
Skills and Qualification:
- Subject Matter Expert with extensive experience in radiopharmaceutical therapy dosimetry for oncology, including theranostic pairs and alpha-, beta-, and Auger-emitter technologies, able to lead all aspects of internal dosimetry analysis, from quantitative image-based inputs (e.g., PET, SPECT, autoradiography) through voxel-level dose calculation, reporting, and interpretation.
- Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and analyze dosimetry studies preclinically and clinically, including validation of image-based dosimetry workflows against physical measurement (e.g., phantoms, TLD, digital autoradiography) and ensuring data quality control and standardization aligned with current literature and global guidelines.
- Deep expertise in Monte Carlo radiation transport and patient-specific dose calculation, including development and validation of dosimetry platforms, heterogeneous GPU/CPU computing, and multi-scale (organ-to-nanoscale) dosimetry of alpha, beta, and Auger emitters.
- Working knowledge of radiation biology and dose-response relationships in radiopharmaceutical therapy, including radiobiological modeling and the interplay of absorbed dose with biological and combination-therapy effects.
- Technical proficiency with dosimetry and image-processing software, coding, simulation, modeling, and statistical tools such as OLINDA, MIRDcalc, MIM, Torch/RAPID, GATE, Geant4, MCNP, SIMIND, 3D Slicer, ITK-SNAP, Elastix, Python, C/C++, Matlab, or R, including deformable registration and segmentation pipelines.
- Proven track record in managing projects involving coordinating cross-functional teams and aligning stakeholders, with a commitment to deliver on accelerated timelines in a multidisciplinary and dynamic environment; demonstrated success mentoring and developing high-performing technical staff.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively with minimal supervision while adapting to a constantly changing environment; recognized leadership skills, professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present and discuss complex dosimetry and radiation science topics clearly and concisely to global scientific audiences, regulatory bodies, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel (up to 30%), including participation in conferences, industry events, and evening/weekend engagements as required.

Compensation Overview:
The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.
