Position Summary
The Manager, Virtual Events serves as ACP’s primary lead for virtual programming and is responsible for the planning, coordination and successful delivery of ACP’s digital education programs, including POWERCASTS, webinars, and the live production, recording and archiving of educational programming at select ACP conferences and events. This position owns the day-to-day management of the program and is accountable for ensuring each program is well planned, speakers and internal partners are prepared, deadlines are met, and the participant experience reflects ACP’s standards.
Working under the strategic direction of senior leadership and in close partnership with ACP subject matter experts, the Manager translates program priorities and timely industry topics into well-executed educational programming. The role works directly with executives, senior staff, member company representatives and external speakers and requires strong judgment, professionalism and the ability to independently manage multiple programs and competing priorities.
The Manager will also monitor program performance, stay current on digital programming and industry trends, and bring forward recommendations to strengthen and grow ACP’s digital education offerings over time.

Digital Education & Program Management
- Lead the planning and execution of ACP’s virtual programming, including POWERCASTS, webinars and digital education components of select in-person conferences and events.
- Own program timelines and deliverables from initial planning through execution and follow-up, coordinating across internal teams to ensure programs remain on schedule and issues are addressed early.
- Work with ACP subject matter experts to translate program priorities, industry developments and timely topics into relevant educational programming.
- Manage the full speaker and panelist process, including invitations, onboarding, agreements, program materials, rehearsals and day-of support.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for executives, senior staff, member company representatives and external speakers participating in programs, providing clear communication, anticipating needs and ensuring they are prepared for successful participation.
- Review presentations and program materials for completeness and readiness and work with speakers and internal partners to resolve issues or make updates as needed.
- Travel to select ACP conferences and events to manage onsite production and recording of educational programming, ensuring sessions are successfully captured and prepared for ACP’s digital content library.
- Coordinate with Events, Marketing, Communications and other ACP teams on program promotion, audience communications, technology and execution.
- Coordinate work with staff supporting speaker and program logistics, establishing clear responsibilities, deadlines and expectations and following through to ensure work is completed.
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of ACP’s digital education content and resources, ensuring materials are current, accessible and appropriately maintained.
- Manage multiple programs, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously, using sound judgment to resolve issues independently and escalating when additional direction or support is needed.
Program Development & Improvement
- Track participation, engagement, feedback and other program measures to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay current on industry developments, audience needs and trends in digital education and virtual programming and bring forward recommendations for ACP programs.
- Recommend improvements to program formats, processes, technology and the participant experience and lead implementation of approved changes.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen the reach and value of ACP’s digital education offerings within the broader strategy established by senior leadership.
- Work with subject matter experts and internal partners to identify timely programming opportunities and develop plans to move approved programs from concept through execution.
- Support the continued development of ACP’s digital education content and resources as programming grows and evolves.
- Partner with the Safety, Workforce Training & Operations team and Clean Power Institute on digital education and training programs as needed.
Education, Experience, Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in events, communications, education, marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience managing webinars, virtual events, educational programs, conferences, or related programming.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing programs from planning through execution, including multiple timelines, speakers, stakeholders and deliverables.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing needs, anticipate issues and maintain accountability for deadlines and outcomes.
- Strong judgment and professionalism, particularly when working directly with executives, senior leaders, subject matter experts, members and external partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to set clear expectations, adapt communication for different audiences and handle sensitive or time-sensitive situations appropriately.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across teams, incorporate different perspectives and move shared work forward.
- Ability to identify and assess issues, make sound decisions within the scope of the role and recognize when additional guidance or escalation is needed.
- Experience using webinar, virtual event or related digital platforms and the ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
- Ability to use program data, feedback and industry trends to evaluate performance and recommend improvements.
- Experience in a trade association, membership organization or clean energy industry preferred.
Job Conditions
We are a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This position may experience high-level work demands and independent decision-making under tight timelines. Regular travel across the country for meetings or events may be required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. ACP will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
We reasonably believe that the base salary range for this position is $80,000- 95,000 annually.
