Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Mechanical Test Technician for an on-site assignment in Rochester Hills, Michigan. This position performs testing on products, components, and systems to verify conformity to specifications and proper functioning. Responsibilities include conducting and documenting mechanical, performance, environmental, and operational testing and supporting the operation and maintenance of testing equipment.
IMPORTANT SCHEDULE REQUIREMENT: Candidates must be able to complete 8 weeks of training on 1st Shift before transitioning to their assigned 2nd or 3rd Shift schedule. Regular schedules consist of 10-hour shifts, Wednesday–Saturday or Sunday–Wednesday. Candidates must indicate their preferred shift at the top of their resume. Final shift assignment will be determined by the hiring manager.
POSITION OVERVIEW
• On-site position in Rochester Hills, MI
• 3 openings total: 2 on 2nd Shift and 1 on 3rd Shift
• Long-term assignment with renewal expected after December 2026

SCHEDULE
• 2nd or 3rd Shift
• 10-hour shifts
• Wednesday–Saturday or Sunday–Wednesday
• 8 weeks of initial training on 1st Shift
• Overtime expected
• Final shift assignment determined by the hiring manager
ROLE
• Conduct tests on products, components, and work-in-progress.
• Test components, products, or systems under development for conformity to specifications and proper functioning.
• Document, analyze, and communicate test results and perform retesting as appropriate.
• Install, maintain, and operate testing software and equipment.
• Participate in defining criteria for testing.
• Prepare tests by reviewing test objectives, standards, methods, conditions, and equipment.
• Select and ensure proper calibration of test equipment required for each specific test.
• Assemble and disassemble components before and after testing.
• Conduct performance, environmental, and operational tests to validate product capability and reliability.
• Complete test logs and collect and document test data.
• Maintain the test information database by entering and backing up data.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, maintain supplies, and call for repairs when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
• Mechanical skills REQUIRED
• Experience in mechanical testing and/or as an auto technician REQUIRED
• Ability to conduct and document mechanical, performance, environmental, and operational testing REQUIRED
• Ability to complete 8 weeks of training on 1st Shift before transitioning to the assigned schedule REQUIRED
• Ability to work 2nd or 3rd Shift on a 10-hour schedule, Wednesday–Saturday or Sunday–Wednesday REQUIRED
• Ability and willingness to work on-site in Rochester Hills, MI REQUIRED
• Drug screen REQUIRED
• Background check REQUIRED
• Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer; visa sponsorship is not available REQUIRED
