Job Description Summary
As a leader within GE Gas Power's GSC Sourcing Finance team, you will head a team responsible for collaborating with Sourcing, Engineering, and Manufacturing divisions to drive cost reduction (margin enhancement) and cash flow improvement, all while maintaining strong fulfillment and quality performance. You will partner closely with the GP Sourcing Leader, Sourcing CFO, and GSC CFO to optimize sourcing costs, manage direct spend, drive deflation, and improve working capital. Your role will involve maximizing performance (cost, fulfillment, quality, cash) and profitability through effective supply chain and project execution. You will also keep abreast of macro industry trends to recommend best practices that enhance products, processes, and services.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Direct Material Product Inflation: Plan, forecast, report, analyze and influence the inflation/deflation and PPV of all direct material product commodities including metals, be a strategic consultant of the sourcing team, partner with the impacted factories finance and procurement teams.
- Supplier Partnerships: Support sourcing’s strategic negotiations and to develop and maintain partnerships with suppliers to drive productivity, deflation, and cash flow optimization. Lead sourcing analytics and metric reporting, including direct material deflation, accounts payable days, and supplier terms.
- Escalation factors: act as a strategic partner to the ITR teams via the escalation process so that they have the latest available cost prognosis for the following years to support their pricing decisions. Lead the Escalation process automation and AI project.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee the planning and forecasting of sourcing for $10B+ spend, supporting the LRF and budget planning cycles as well as monthly and quarterly pacing. Collaborate with the Sourcing CFO and Sourcing GMs to align financial reporting with operational and business dynamics, ensuring synchronization with GSC FP&A.
- Working Capital Optimization: Oversee GSC working capital optimization by planning and forecasting disbursements. Enhance supplier payment terms through improved visibility, risk and opportunity management, and participation in key negotiations. Lead the management of the SCF programs in coordination with AP operations, partner banks, suppliers, legal teams, and GP sourcing leadership. Leverage extra cash opportunities of the company to get price benefits and decrease product cost.
- Standard Work: Oversee all sourcing finance processes across the board through the lens of lean, implement standard work, develop digitized solutions, eliminate waste via continuous improvement.
- Strategic Influence: Utilize specialized expertise to influence strategy within the discipline, including resource control and policy formulation. This role requires strong commercial awareness to guide strategic decisions and improve processes, products, or services.
- Leadership and Communication: Lead functional teams or projects of moderate complexity, with minimal resource requirements and risk. Communicate complex concepts effectively and influence perspectives to guide decision-making processes. Influence the team’s success in achieving service, quality, and timeliness goals. Regularly provide strategic advice to management and play a key role in decision-making on significant issues.
- Decision Making and Problem Solving: Exercise high-level judgment in handling complex tasks and decisions that impact the function. Assess the quality of information provided and engage with stakeholders by asking critical questions. Develop innovative solutions to problems outside conventional parameters and offer well-considered recommendations.
- Finance Transformation: Support the finance transformation agenda by automating, outsourcing, and streamlining processes within the Sourcing Finance team.
This role requires a blend of strategic vision, financial acumen, and leadership skills to drive the sourcing finance function forward, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Finance, accounting, economics topics or related field
- Major experience in finance
- Fluency in English
- Supply chain / materials finance experience
