Senior Buyer, Indirect Procurement

Location: Midrand, South Africa

As our successful Senior Buyer, you will capture all Indirect spending for your supporting sites.

You will service by implementing the approved sourcing strategies within the company’s requirements and guidelines, ensuring results on all agreed goals with the Business Units and Group functions, contributing to the overall result for dsm-firmenich, whilst also ensuring implementation and respect of compliance to policies.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Procurement Compliance activities, including the validation process of new supply sources, ensuring process documentation maintenance and Procurement owned master data accuracy.
• Support the governance forum for introduction of new supply sources
• Ensure process performance in line with agreed SLAs.
• KPI reporting and monitoring.
• Act as Procurement Compliance SME for BPO and others.
• To act as the first point of contact for all stakeholders on the sites which he/she supports (Midrand and Isando)
• Define the relevant local sourcing approach and local market intelligence, aligned with the global sourcing strategies
• Coordinating, managing or re-directing all Indirect procurement activities for the sites in scope, and assisting in the tail spend management performed by GES Indirect Procurement Desk (IPD) as per country defined authority levels.
• Drive saving pipeline on the site(s) and engage with stakeholders to drive implementation and progress of new/alternative products, services and processes
• Prepare and lead tenders, fact-based negotiations, supplier selection and contracting process for regional/local spend in accordance with company policies and standards
• Lead contract implementation, renewal and potential localization and resolve issues in close alignment with Managers
• Develop and manage relationship with preferred/approved suppliers and track/develop their performance critical for her/his scope
• Initiate and conduct supplier performance evaluations.
• Support stakeholders: using dsm-firmenich (preferred) contracts, executing competitive bids, spot buying or coordinate specification-sourcing process towards category management.
• Monitoring the P2P process and ensuring compliance with agreed Payment terms, company processes and policies and local legislation

You bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant expertise area and/or equal level developed by experience
• Minimum 4-5 years Indirect Procurement experience, both in Opex and Capex spend areas
• Minimum 3 years of experience in working with global complex stakeholders and change management
• Negotiation, contracting, demand management and relevant systems savviness/ Multitasking
• Effective communication, Influencing & motivating others
• High ethics and Compliance
• Proficiency in workflow tools and SAP (ARIBA)
• Problem solving, communication, people & time management skills.
• Organised, enthusiastic and data-oriented person with sharp attention to detail
