Description
The role involves advising on contentious matters across the Bank, including litigation, potential legal challenges and dispute management. It also includes supporting governance and escalation processes with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, including DBT, HM Treasury and UKGI, while providing practical, commercially aware legal advice in an in-house financial services context.
Legal input and advice may be provided to Product Teams, Senior Management, Risk and Compliance, Local Growth, Policy, Strategy and Economics, Finance and Procurement as required.
We are looking for legal experience broadly equivalent to at least five years’ PQE, although applications are welcome from candidates with fewer years’ PQE who can demonstrate the required skills, experience and competencies.
Experience advising on contentious matters within a litigation or regulatory team is important, ideally with financial services knowledge. FOIA experience, and experience providing legal support directly to business leads in-house or in private practice, would be an advantage.
