Position Summary
The Marketing & Outreach Manager is responsible for expanding Progress Valley's visibility, strengthening referral partner relationships, and increasing community awareness of the organization's services. This position serves as Progress Valley's primary representative in the community and is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with referral sources, healthcare partners, counties, community organizations, and other key stakeholders. The Marketing & Outreach Manager leads outreach strategy, community engagement efforts, referral relationship management, and organizational presence throughout service areas. This role works collaboratively with the Digital Marketing Specialist to align outreach initiatives with marketing campaigns and organizational messaging.
This is a hybrid position that will allow for some remote work but also will require travel to all Progress Valley locations.
Essential Responsibilities
- LMA (Lead, Manage, Accountability): Lead, manage, and hold assigned outreach and marketing activities accountable.
- Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations that support organizational service, growth, and accountability.
- Track outreach initiatives, projects, and key performance indicators with integrity, accuracy, and transparency.
- Ensure alignment between outreach activities and organizational goals while taking ownership of outcomes and follow-through.
- Participate in EOS processes, including Rocks, scorecards, and L10 meetings, demonstrating awareness, collaboration, and resilience in problem-solving.
2. Referral Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with referral partners and community stakeholders.
- Conduct regular outreach and follow-up with active referral sources in a manner that reflects service, professionalism, and respect.
- Re-engage inactive referral partners with awareness, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach to renewed collaboration.
- Maintain a structured outreach system to track interactions, follow-up activities, and relationship status with integrity and accountability.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for referral partner inquiries and relationship-building activities, demonstrating ownership and responsiveness.
3. Outreach & Community Presence: Represent Progress Valley at conferences, provider meetings, resource fairs, networking events, and community activities.
- Coordinate facility tours, presentations, and educational opportunities for community partners in a way that reflects Progress Valley’s commitment to service and dignity.
- Build awareness of Progress Valley programs and services throughout service areas while communicating with clarity, awareness, and respect.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen community partnerships and increase organizational visibility through growth-minded and mission-aligned engagement.
- Serve as an ambassador for Progress Valley's mission, values, and services, modeling integrity and professionalism in all community interactions.
4. Outreach Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement annual outreach plans and engagement strategies.
- Identify opportunities to increase awareness and utilization of services while supporting the organization’s commitment to growth and community impact.
- Monitor referral trends and recommend outreach priorities using sound judgment, awareness, and data-informed decision-making.
- Establish and maintain outreach cadences for key partners and stakeholder groups, taking ownership for consistent follow-through.
- Track outreach outcomes and provide regular reporting to leadership with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
5. Marketing Leadership & Alignment: Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Specialist to align outreach priorities with marketing efforts.
- Provide strategic input on marketing campaigns, messaging, and community engagement initiatives that reflect Progress Valley’s mission, values, and commitment to service.
- Support organizational events, educational programs, and awareness campaigns with resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative approach.
- Ensure consistency in external messaging and community communications by acting with integrity and awareness of audience needs.
- Identify content opportunities that highlight community partnerships, services, organizational impact, and continued growth.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Human Services, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in outreach, community relations, healthcare marketing, communications, relationship management, or a related field.
- Required: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Required: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Required: Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Required: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred: Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, nonprofit, or human services environments.
- Preferred: Experience working with referral networks, community partners, or healthcare systems.
- Preferred: Familiarity with CRM systems, outreach tracking tools, and reporting.
- Preferred: Experience with public speaking, presentations, and community engagement activities.

Compliance Requirements
- Must be able to pass DHS Rule 11 background check.
- Current two-step Mantoux/Tuberculosis Skin Test, TB Gold test, or ability to obtain.
- Positive driving record; periodic review of driving record required.
- Valid state driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
Repetitive movement of hands and fingers, including typing and/or writing. Occasional standing,
walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Reaching with hands and arms. Ability to communicate,
converse with and exchange information.
Work Schedule Expectations
