Highlights:

Summary:The Apothecary Pharmacist shall be responsible to provide and coordinate pharmaceutical services for the MCC Apothecary. This individual is responsible to perform both retail and specialty pharmacy operations. The Pharmacist will prepare and dispense prescriptions, prescription compounding, and patient education. Additionally, the Pharmacist will monitor patients, provide purchasing and inventory management, and record-keeping. The Pharmacist is responsible to adhere to good pharmacy practice and maintain strict compliance with all laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy as well as maintaining all standards for URAC and ACHC accreditation. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy or PharmD degree. At least 3-5 years experience in a retail pharmacy. Experience working in a speciality pharmacy setting preferred. License / Certification: Active Pharmacist licensure required. Alabama Controlled Substance certification required. BPS preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties.
• Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system.
• Basic knowledge in pharmacokinetic calculations and parenteral nutrition management.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique.
• Evidence of commitment to continuing education.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 10% of the workday and mobility 90% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
