Description
- Conduct financial and operational audits across hospital departments to assess accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness of financial processes and internal controls.
- Review financial transactions, revenue streams, expenses, procurement activities, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Audit stock control and inventory management processes to verify inventory accuracy, proper recording of stock movements, and compliance with established procedures.
- Perform inventory audits by reviewing stock records, conducting physical stock verification, investigating variances, and identifying causes of discrepancies, losses, or stock inaccuracies.
- Assess the effectiveness of stock management controls, including purchasing, receiving, storage, issuance, consumption monitoring, and stock reconciliation processes.
- Identify financial risks, control weaknesses, revenue leakage, and process inefficiencies, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Liaise with Finance, Procurement, Stores, Pharmacy, Clinical, and Operational teams to investigate audit findings and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain audit reports, working papers, discrepancy logs, and follow-up trackers to support management review and decision-making.
- Support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation, analysis, and clarification on financial and operational processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to financial controls, stock management practices, and overall governance processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; professional qualification such as ACCA (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial auditing, internal controls, accounting, or a related finance role, preferably within a healthcare or service environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, audit methodologies, accounting principles, and internal control frameworks.
- Experience in reviewing inventory, stock control processes, procurement transactions, and operational controls would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, assess risks, and provide practical recommendations for improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with ERP/accounting systems, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
