Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in brand management, marketing and sales focus on collaboration to develop and execute strategic sales and marketing initiatives. They utilise market research, digital marketing, creative campaigns, and effective sales strategies to engage clients, enhance the firm's brand and market presence, and achieve organisational targets.

As a marketing generalist at PwC, you will focus on a wide range of marketing activities aimed at promoting the Firm's products or services. You will conduct market research, develop marketing strategies, create and execute marketing campaigns, and analyse campaign performance. You will leverage a versatile skill set and knowledge in various marketing channels, holding responsibility for validating brand consistency, reaching target audiences, and driving customer engagement and loyalty.

PwC launched the South African Technology & Innovation Centre (SATIC), designed to innovate, build, and deploy solutions for our global clients across a range of technology and transformational needs. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will play an essential role in executing board-approved marketing and branding strategies, ensuring alignment with the South African firm’s where appropriate. This position is crucial in maintaining brand consistency and effective communication with various stakeholders. 

 

The Internal Marketing and Internal Communications Specialist at SATIC is responsible for developing and promoting SATIC's internal brand and value proposition. This role requires close collaboration with PwC’s internal marketing department to ensure alignment with PwC’s overarching brand while maintaining its relevance. The specialist will develop collateral for SATIC's Business Units and drive awareness of SATIC as a delivery center across global territories in support of the Business Unit Leadership. Additionally, the specialist is responsible for crafting and implementing internal communication strategies that ensure consistent and effective messaging throughout SATIC, reinforcing the center’s strategic objectives and fostering a cohesive internal community. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related 

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in marketing and communications roles. 

  • Experience in internal communications, marketing, or business development, preferably within a large organization. 

  • Strong background in brand management, ensuring alignment with company-wide brand standards. 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives. 

  • Expertise in creating marketing collateral and managing digital communication platforms. 

  • Proven track record in coordinating internal events and media activities. 

  • Skilled in strategic communication planning to deliver consistent and effective messaging. 

  • Familiarity with global collaboration and the ability to adapt communication strategies for diverse cultural and regional contexts. 

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse marketing performance metrics and optimize campaigns 

  • Strong background in content development, including writing, editing, and storytelling for various audiences. 

  • Knowledge of marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp) and basic HTML/CSS for web updates is a plus. 

  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, social media management platforms, CMS, CRM systems, etc.). 

  • Familiarity with brand management and alignment within global organizations. 

  • Proven ability to establish relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders. 

  • Creative, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Brand Definition & Collateral Creation: 

  • Collaborate with PwC’s internal marketing department to align SATIC’s brand identity with PwC’s global brand standards. 

  • Develop marketing collateral that articulates SATIC’s value proposition and enhances awareness of its services across Business Units. 

  • Maintain marketing collateral to ensure ready to use items for urgent requests 

  • Ensure consistent brand application across all internal and external touchpoints. 

 

Awareness Campaigns 

  • Development and formulation of comprehensive marketing & awareness campaigns coupled with annual marketing plans in alignment to global communication plans Conduct market research, audience insights, Internal delivery competitor analysis, and channel assessments to inform marketing direction. 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align marketing and communications initiatives with awareness campaigns and organisational priorities. 

  • Support Business Unit Leadership in developing strategies to position SATIC as a delivery centre across global territories. 

  • Engage in activities to promote awareness and understanding of SATIC’s capabilities and services. 

 

Marketing Execution 

  • Execute SATIC’s approved marketing plans, ensuring alignment with PwC global marketing standards and local market needs. 

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, email, content, social media, and offline channels. 

  • Coordinate with creative and content teams to produce high-quality marketing materials, assets, and collateral. 

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of brand-aligned messaging, visuals, and digital presence. 

Communications 

  • Draft and implement internal communication strategies that align with PwC’s communication practices. 

  • Maintain consistency and alignment in communication across SATIC’s platforms. 

  • Draft, edit, and review communications materials including press releases, newsletters, announcements, articles, and website content. 

  • Maintain consistent brand voice and messaging across all communication channels. 

  • Support media relations efforts and stakeholder communications as needed. 

 

Digital Marketing and Event 

  • Manage SATIC social media presence, content calendars, and performance analytics. 

  • Oversee website content updates and improvements 

  • Oversee the maintenance and streamlining of information on SATIC’s internal site and client-facing hub. 

  • Ensure accurate representation and timely updates on PwC SA’s external website regarding SATIC. 

  • Use analytics tools to track awareness campaign performance, provide insights, and recommend optimisation strategies. 

 

Monitoring, Reporting & Evaluation 

  • Track KPIs and prepare regular marketing and communications performance reports. 

  • Analyse results to measure effectiveness and inform continuous improvement. 

  • Support annual reviews of marketing and communications strategies and processes. 

Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Collaborate closely with the PwC South Africa’s Communication and Marketing Teams to align marketing and branding efforts as directed. 

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal teams to advocate for SATIC’s brand and business objectives. 

  • Ensure SATIC’s priority and timeous delivery of any marketing, communication of branding collateral. 

  • Work closely with the business unit leads to ensure timeous delivery aligned with the marketing and comms plans. 

  • Support relationships with agencies, vendors, and partners for execution of marketing plans. 

 

The successful candidates will be required to work the standard office hours of the South African office. During the training period, attendance in the office will be required on a daily basis. Following the completion of training, candidates will transition to a hybrid working model. Please note that PwC SATIC is currently refining its hybrid working approach, and this remains subject to change in line with business, client, and team requirements.
