The Key Purpose of this role is to perform optimization/modification and maintenance of process control systems.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
Maintain, calibrate, repair equipment and optimize plant and associated devices
Maintain plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems
Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process equipment and systems
Operate plant and process equipment
Calibrate instruments and sensors
Perform basic changes to software in PLCs with necessary approvals
Supports the scoping of projects and upgrades to plant and process
Assists in the implementation of plant and process improvement projects
SAP maintenance schedules management compliance
Work in Teams
Communicate effectively in teams
Contribute to self and team development
Apply the VPO principles & practices
Apply 5S standards and practices in the workplace
Operate and control the process according to SOP’s
Participate in and coach autonomous operations
Support quality at source
Improve personal competence and flexibility
Apply problem solving processes
Utilise loss & waste and short interval control to identify problems
Apply problem solving techniques to resolve situational problems

Minimum Requirements:
Engineering Diploma or National Trade Test as an Instrumentation Technician or equivalent.
3+ years post experience in a FMCG.
2+ years of experience in maintenance of control systems in manufacturing industry (PLC, VFD etc.)
Experience Flow and Grafana software Is an Added
Sound knowledge of VPO and workplace change principles would be an added benefit
knowledge of SAP and Excel
