Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
Wigston, Leicester (LE18)
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 17:00pm
Hourly Rate - £13.46 - £14.42 (£28,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience)
Temporary ongoing with potential to be made permanent after 12 successful weeks
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our clients growing workshop team in Wigston. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
Working on a variety of vehicle makes and models, you will be responsible for servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, ensuring every vehicle is completed to the highest safety and performance standards.
Day to Day Duties:
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and vehicle inspections.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Complete repairs including brakes, clutches, suspension, steering, exhaust systems, engines and other vehicle components.
- Identify additional maintenance or repair requirements and communicate findings to the Workshop Manager.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely and to manufacturer and company standards.
- Accurately complete job cards, service records and documentation.
- Use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.
- Deliver excellent customer service by carrying out repairs to a high standard and supporting a positive customer experience.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Experienced as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
- Confident diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle faults.
- Knowledgeable in vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair procedures.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a busy workshop team.
- Organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering quality workmanship.
- A positive team player with strong problem-solving skills.
- Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred).
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
- Experience using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- MOT Tester qualification (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience working on hybrid and electric vehicles would be beneficial.
