Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Head of OneSat Programme Ground Segment to join our Department based in Toulouse, France.

OneSat is revolutionising the telecoms satellite market by opening up a new world of possibilities. Unlike earlier satellites designed for fixed missions, OneSat can be fully reconfigured while in orbit - capable of adjusting its coverage area, capacity, and frequency “on the fly” to meet evolving mission scenarios, thanks to a specifically designed ground segment, cybersecure by design.

Mission

As part of the OneSat Programme leadership team, you will be accountable for the OneSat Ground Segment (Product & Projects). You will ensure the On-Time, On-Quality, On-Cost (OTOQOC) delivery of validated Ground Segments in compliance with customer requirements and the OneSat Business Case. This is a "Gold AD Project" involving high-level international customer management and deep cross-functional collaboration.

Main Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead a motivated team (internally and with external partners) and drive transformation and  improvement in operational ways of working.

• Project Governance: Manage all aspects of Gold Project requirements, including WBS/CBS, Risk & Opportunity management, schedule analysis, and export control.

• Lifecycle Management: Oversee development and validation for 7+ OneSat projects and flexible payload projects, ensuring strict baseline change management.

• Strategic Communication: Align all stakeholders with the OneSat "Baseline Plan" to ensure end-to-end readiness and seamless delivery.

• Financial Oversight: Monitor operational and financial performance, providing proactive recovery plans should gaps be identified.

• Executive Reporting: Deliver high-quality, transparent status reports to internal and external stakeholders (Excom, Customers, Partners and Airbus Group).

• Process Industrialization: Implement disruptive changes to streamline and industrialize processes, enabling parallel development and delivery for our growing global customer base.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced Programme Manager with a proven track record of leading complex projects, ideally related to Telecommunications Ground Segments. Airbus PM certification at Silver level minimum is required.

You are a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of a large innovative project while maintaining a relentless focus on operational OTOQOC (On-Time, On-Quality, On-Cost). 

You possess the unique ability to manage large-scale technical requirements while simultaneously developing strong customer intimacy and understanding of their satellite operations.

You have excellent team leadership and communication skills.

Fluency in English is required.

This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
