Description
The Accountant role will be part of the Finance Center of Excellence (COE) team which provides centralized accounting globally for operational efficiency and centralized collaboration.
Responsibilities:
This person will be responsible for month end close activities related to Payroll accounting, and for ensuring that payroll accounts are in compliance with SOX controls.
The roles include:
1. Prepare payroll journals & supporting documents
• Compile and post monthly payroll journal entries
• Ensure all entries are supported with proper and complete supporting documents
2. Prepare Balance sheet reconciliation for payroll accounts
- Prepare reconciliations for all Payroll balance sheet accounts, and submit them in Blackline
- Identify, investigate and resolve variances or unreconciled differences on timely basis
- Escalate issues that may impact financial reporting or compliance
3. Review and analyse significant fluctuations in payroll P&L and BS accounts
• Perform fluctuation analysis for significant movements in payroll related P&L and BS accounts
4. Perform SOX controls on payroll accounting process
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of SOX control activities
5. Engagement with business partners, ie HR, payroll ops, accounting, finance etc.
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to support ongoing close activities, issues resolutions, process improvement initiatives etc.
6. Work on projects related to drive efficiency, simplification, automation and process standardisation
Requirements:
(1) Degree in Accounting, Finance or Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW)
(2) At least 4-5 years working experience in accounting function
(3) Detail-oriented and independent
(4) Proficiency in Excel, and SAP knowledge
(5) Has experience in GL accounting.
(6) Self driven, good communication skills, team work
