Req. ID:
JR106315 ENGINEER, PE GFX ATE
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Product Engineer - High-Speed ATE Test, Graphics DRAM (GDDR)
ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a mid-to-senior Product Engineer to own high-speed Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test for graphics-class DRAM (GDDR) as we ramp next-generation products into high-volume production. You will drive test program development, high-speed I/O characterization, failure analysis, and yield, quality, and cost improvement from wafer through package. This is a hands-on, outcome-focused role for an engineer who thrives on debugging hard electrical problems at the leading edge of memory performance and has a proven track record of reducing defective-parts-per-million (DPM), cutting test cost, and delivering clean production ramps. You will also help pioneer an emerging initiative that applies AI to transform how high-speed test is done.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
\- Ramp high-speed GDDR-class products into high-volume production on ATE (wafer/probe and package test), meeting yield, quality, and cost targets.
\- Develop, debug, validate, and optimize high-speed test programs and test content; expand test coverage and advance Design-for-Test (DFT) strategy and methodology.
\- Perform high-speed I/O characterization and margining, including data-eye and timing-margin analysis and AC timing extraction across corners.
\- Lead failure analysis of electrical and physical fails; drive root cause to closure, achieve significant DPM reduction, and eliminate quality escapes.
\- Deliver major test-time and cost-per-unit reduction through pattern and test-content optimization.
\- Own yield monitoring, analysis, and improvement; extract and analyze probe, burn-in, and final-test parametric data; align test results across sites.
\- Manage scrap and material disposition and RMA / customer-return failure analysis; ensure customer-mode and specification alignment.
\- Partner cross-functionally with design, product/test engineering, manufacturing, and quality/reliability (QRA); present findings and drive decisions in multi-site teams.
AI & INNOVATION INITIATIVE
\- Help stand up and shape an emerging effort to apply agentic AI and AI-assisted coding to high-speed test engineering, from test-program development to root-cause analysis.
\- Build automated, unattended test orchestration spanning system-level and ATE test, running large-scale corner and timing sweeps with automated AC timing extraction and data analysis.
\- Use AI agents and AI-assisted development to auto-generate and debug test programs, accelerate root-cause and data analysis, and reduce cycle time.
\- Create failure-monitoring dashboards and analytics that turn test data into faster, better decisions.
\- Influence how AI becomes a durable source of productivity, innovation, and competitive advantage for high-speed test.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Required
\- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with ATE product/test engineering experience commensurate with a mid/senior level (typically 4+ years).
\- Proven hands-on experience developing, debugging, and optimizing ATE test programs for high-speed devices.
\- Strong high-speed I/O and characterization background: data-eye/timing-margin analysis, AC timing extraction, and parametric data interpretation.
\- Demonstrated results in yield improvement and DPM/quality-escape reduction.
\- Solid failure-analysis skills for electrical and physical fails, with structured root-cause methodology.
\- Strong programming/scripting ability and comfort working with large test datasets.
Preferred
\- Experience with GDDR or other high-speed memory (DDR, LPDDR, HBM) or high-speed serial I/O.
\- DFT development and test-time/cost-reduction leadership.
\- Experience automating test flows or applying AI/ML or agentic tools to engineering data and workflows.
\- Experience with system-level test and cross-functional, multi-site production ramps.
\- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
