The Lead Radiological Engineer – Dose & Dispersion will contribute to the Dose and Dispersion team in areas of dose consequence and dispersion analyses within the nuclear, radiological, and safety analysis engineering function. In particular, the Lead Radiological Engineer will perform, and verify for the team in source term, decay heat, dose and dispersion analyses, ALARA and other radiological nuclear safety analyses supporting GVH’s next generation of Light Water Reactor (LWR) the BWRX-300, next generation reactor designs (GEN 4), and products, designs and services related to servicing our existing fleets & fuel.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform technical evaluations and provide technical support in areas of source term, decay heat, dose and dispersion analyses, ALARA and other radiological nuclear safety analyses
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external project managers, technical personnel, plant owners, customers, and regulators, and collaborate with vendors and technology partners on engineering and technical issues
• Maintain a high standard of quality and safety while meeting baseline project schedule and cost objectives
• Prepare, document and present technical data to internal and external customers
• Contribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplification
• Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC, CNSC, or other regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
• Lead cross-team problem solving on complex technical issues, drawing on deep domain expertise
   

Basic Qualifications:

• M.S. Degree in engineering, physics, or closely related science discipline from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear radiological analysis
   

Desired Characteristics:

• Deep technical expertise in core and spent fuel pool decay heat analysis
• Deep technical expertise in probabilistic dose consequence analysis
• Experience with BWR technology
• Knowledge of plant operational support
• Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
• Direct experience presenting technical analyses to the ACRS or other regulatory bodies
• Experience with ORIGEN, RADTRAD, GALE, MCNP, SCALE, MELCOR, MAAP, MACCS
• Object-oriented programming experience such as Python, Java, C#, C++
• Experience developing engineering computer programs and creating verified software following the CP-23-400 process
• Experience developing new work processes and tools that improve productivity, including leveraging AI/LLM capabilities
• Demonstrated high energy and the ability to energize others
• Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity
• Work easily and communicate effectively within a team environment
• Strong personal commitment and determination
• Detail oriented and accountable for results

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $188,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
