Description

- Provide user support by phone, remote connection or in-person for various line of business (LOB) applications; work with Commission LOB applications subject matter experts to resolve escalated issues
- Input issues and resolutions into the Commission’s Helpdesk Tracking Software; monitors open tickets to make sure that issues are resolved in a timely matter.
- Test and maintain Commission LOB applications; implement vendor software releases; assist in maintenance of interfaces to LOB applications; Analyze and resolve software problems and interface with vendors to resolve issues.
- Assist with software implementation projects in various capacities including but not limited to configuration, testing, or reporting
- Make recommendations on methods to optimize software/hardware performance;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Programming Team Supervisor, Technology Manager or the Chief Information Officer.

- Knowledge of computer science; computer hardware and peripheral equipment; functions and capabilities of software systems; strong understanding of core programming concepts and computer hardware systems.
- Knowledge of database theory and design, and technology systems testing procedures.
- Ability to comprehend an extensive variety of technical material, troubleshoot and define problems, collect data, establish facts, create action plans, and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to train and assist staff in using hardware and software efficiently.
- Author and effectively communicate necessary system documentation including technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and work aids as needed
- Create and maintain effective working relationships with a wide diversity of individuals in a variety of circumstances
- Maintain exemplary communication skills both verbally and in writing on complex technical and non-technical matters.
- Assist with and participates in project activities as directed by the project manager.
- Adapt quickly to changes in priorities; prioritizes tasks without direct supervision.
- Is self-motivated, proactive and attentive to detail.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of data and information
- Completion of an undergraduate core program in computer science or a related field.
- Prior experience in application support, database/data systems management.
- Knowledge of .net, SQL, Scripting Languages such as JavaScript, Python, PowerShell etc.; Microsoft-Windows Operating Systems; Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of data governance practices, data analytics practices
- Experience with Crystal; SQL Reporting Services; Microsoft Power BI a plus.
- Experience in dealing with stakeholders at all levels of an organization and in a diversity of disciplines.
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required.
- The work environment is typically an office setting. Employee may be required to be on-call 24 hours, 7 days a week in order to ensure data systems operation; work involves sitting for prolonged periods of time.
