What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

As a Commercial Technician, you’ll take the lead in building and assembling commercial units and accessories using current drawings and specifications. You’ll be involved in every step of the process — from materials and assembly to testing and quality — ensuring our products meet RenewAire’s high standards.

  • Assemble commercial units and accessories accurately and efficiently
     
  • Inspect work during assembly and complete required quality documentation
     
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, and build instructions
     
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and machine tools safely and correctly
     
  • Meet build schedules and estimated labor hours
     
  • Support insulation and production needs as required
     
  • Complete documentation such as non-conformance reports, part shortages, and engineering changes
     
  • Participate in cross-training and stay current on build processes
     
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
     
  • Take initiative to solve problems and suggest improvements to processes, tools, and workspaces
     
  • Remain flexible and assist with other tasks as production demands change

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
     
  • 1–3 years of relevant manufacturing experience
     
  • Basic computer skills
     
  • Ability to perform basic math and read measurements (inches and feet)
     
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and electrical schematics
     
  • Familiarity with portable power tools and machine tools (band saw, panel saw, chop saw, grinder)
     
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
     
  • Reliable transportation for consistent attendance and punctuality

Requirements

Physical and Mental Demands   

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Fine motor skills are required for a variety of functions, especially for wiring components and performing detailed assembly tasks. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. For items over 50 lbs., an assisted device or help from a coworker is used. A variety of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the role and specific tasks, and is subject to change based on safety needs. RenewAire prioritizes physical safety for all employees and maintains a safety-first work environment. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 


Must be able to understand issues, problems, and opportunities and make timely, sound decisions. Communicate with other employees and customers, perform an assortment of administrative tasks, and have personal management skills. Possess advanced customer service skills, the ability to develop professional relationships with customers and employees. Must continually identify personal knowledge and perspective gaps and self-educate.

Work Environment 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving subassembly parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. Work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment designed for employee comfort and safety. The facility is equipped with noise control measures, resulting in minimal distractions and a steady work atmosphere.
