Position: Maintenance Planner

We are seeking for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our team in Mashonaland West (Zimbabwe).

Operational Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance plans for mining equipment (e.g., excavators, dump trucks, dozers, graders, drills, and support equipment).

  • Schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities in alignment with operational needs.

  • Plan maintenance shutdowns, major component replacements, and inspections to minimize downtime and optimize fleet performance.

  • Ensure work orders are properly created, prioritized, and closed in the maintenance management system.

  • Work in coordination with supervisors and planners from other areas to align maintenance activities with operational targets.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all planned maintenance activities comply with site safety standards and OEM recommendations.

  • Include risk assessments and required permits in work orders to guarantee safe execution of maintenance tasks.

  • Coordinate with the HSE department to ensure all safety procedures are in place prior to planned work.

  • Participate in daily safety meetings and communicate planned maintenance activities to relevant teams.

Environmental Responsibilities

  • Ensure maintenance activities are scheduled and executed in compliance with environmental procedures.

  • Promote responsible management of fluids, waste, and hazardous materials during planned maintenance.

  • Support initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of maintenance operations.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Planning, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance planning in the mining or heavy earthmoving industry or relevant experience with EPSA Group.

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, trucks, dozers, graders, drills).

  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  •  Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Experience with OEM maintenance programs and planning tools.

  • Experience in mining operations in remote or international projects.

  • Basic training in mine site safety standards.

  • Familiarity with work permit systems and shutdown planning.
