At the Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning, our Registered Behavior Technicians play an important role in helping children with autism build communication, social, coping, and daily living skills in a supportive and engaging environment. RBTs work closely with families, BCBAs, and interdisciplinary teams to create consistent, compassionate, and individualized support for every child. 

Pay: dependent on RBT licensure status (see below)

• Unlicensed starts at $16.50 - will obtain certification within the first 120 days and pay will be increased to licensed rate
• Licensed range starts at $19.00 - pay is calculated based on years of licensed experience.

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician-Interim provides educational and developmental support to adolescents and children with behavioral health challenges or autism in a classroom or clinical setting. The RBT-Interim assists the treatment team by helping clients learn skills and behaviors to be successful in their home and community environments.

Essential Functions

• Assists clients with participation in classroom, skills groups, and educational outings according to their abilities and needs
• Assists the treatment team in providing academic and therapeutic structure through the application of behavioral techniques and procedures
• Implements therapeutic interventions to encourage and support self-management, communication, and social skills
• Charts the progress of assigned clients through progress notes to ensure the ongoing evaluation of client strengths and opportunities
• Provides input and recommendations to the treatment team for the development and implementation of the Treatment Plan and the Behavioral Intervention/Management Plan
• Assists in de-escalating clients when necessary or intervening when the behavior of an individual poses a threat of harm to themselves and/or others
• Supports client health by assisting with hygiene responsibilities as required
