Responsibilities & Requirements

The Physical Therapist I delivers evidence-based physical therapy services to patients across the care continuum, focusing on assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention to restore function, relieve pain, and improve mobility. This role supports patient safety, access, and outcomes by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and educating patients and families on rehabilitation strategies. This role conducts comprehensive assessments, develops individualized treatment plans. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education:

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a CAPTE-accredited program or equivalent as recognized by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board. However, bachelors and masters with current PT licensure acceptable.

Required Work Experience:

• Completion of clinical rotations as part of PT program.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

• Current and valid Physical Therapist license issued by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board prior to start date. Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and Ohio jurisprudence examination. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain during orientation period.

• Employee demonstrates consistent hand hygiene practices.
• For Inpatient Rehab positions:
• Employee demonstrates proper KHN restraint skills
• Employee demonstrates patient identification at Point of Entry and Point of Care to policy
• Employee has knowledge of Rehab Med Ranchos Levels and Interventions
• Employee demonstrates consistent hand hygiene practices
• Outpatient Therapy positions:
• Employee demonstrates patient identification at Point of Entry and Point of Care to policy
• Employee appropriately assesses pain levels
• Employee demonstrates understanding of motor learning strategies

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Work Experience:

• Prior experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
