A Day in the Life

Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) is committed to advancing innovative diagnostics and therapies that improve outcomes for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders. Heart failure, atrial fibrillation, stroke and ventricular arrhythmias represent key development areas. Medtronic products and services have the potential to transform patient pathways and standards of care across Switzerland, Austria, Greece and Israel.

As Principal Market Development Specialist, you will lead market development activities across CRM therapy areas, working closely with Commercial Managers, Territory Managers, local Market Development Specialists, Clinical Specialists and the Marketing team to accelerate adoption, improve patient access and deliver sustainable commercial growth.

This role provides strategic leadership across the Alpine, Greece and Israel regional CRM organisation and serves as the primary market development lead, bridging international strategy with local execution.

Therapy Adoption & Market Development

• Drive adoption and market growth of CRM diagnostics and therapies, including innovations such as Aurora EV-ICD™, OmniaSecure™, Leadless Pacing and conduction system pacing therapies across the Alpine, Greece and Israel region.
• Develop and execute market development strategies that increase physician awareness, therapy utilisation and patient access.
• Identify barriers to adoption and implement initiatives that accelerate therapy uptake.
• Support the development of Centres of Excellence, therapy champions and KOL advocacy networks.
• Partner with local Market Development Specialists, Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists to expand procedural volumes and increase market penetration.

Healthcare Pathway Development

• Analyse and optimise referral pathways for patients eligible for diagnostic devices, defibrillation and physiologic pacing therapies.
• Work with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, heart failure teams and hospital stakeholders to improve patient identification and access.
• Support pathway redesign initiatives that improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.

Commercial Strategy & Execution

• Partner with CRM Commercial Leadership to develop and execute growth strategies for CRM Diagnostics and Therapies.
• Collaborate with local and national associations, Health Economics and Market Access teams to accelerate therapy adoption.
• Support national and territory tenders, commercial agreements and value-based proposals.
• Assist Territory Managers in developing bespoke commercial offerings and account-specific growth plans.

KOL Development & Education

• Build and maintain relationships with leading electrophysiologists, pacing, stroke and HF specialists.
• Support physician education programmes, workshops, proctorships and peer-to-peer learning initiatives.
• Collaborate with professional societies and clinical networks to promote awareness of innovative CRM therapies.
• Establish and develop national and regional therapy advocates.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• University Degree in a relevant field
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in a field role within medical devices
• Proven track record in market development activities within medical devices
• Strong ability to understand the field of Cardiac Rhythm Management, electrophysiology or cardiovascular care
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Commercial acumen, including experience supporting tenders, contracts or strategic sales initiatives
• Ability to work effectively within a matrix organisation
• Fluent English, both written and spoken. Additional regional languages, such as German, French, Greek or Hebrew, are considered an advantage
• Willingness to travel across Europe, especially Austria, Switzerland, Greece and Israel, for around 40% of working time

CRM market experience as well as knowledge of CRM therapies and diagnostics is considered an advantage. Similarly, an understanding of scientific publications and clinical study principles, experience with hospital and healthcare procurement processes and an understanding of value-based healthcare principles is desirable. Experience in healthcare pathway redesign or project leadership is an additional asset.

The final salary within this range will be determined based on objective, job-related criteria, including relevant experience, skills and qualifications, in accordance with our compensation framework.
