Description
Overview
A household of two in San Francisco is seeking a reliable, proactive, and highly trustworthy Full-Time Household Assistant to support the daily upkeep and smooth operation of their home. Located near the Hayes Valley and SoMa neighborhoods, this position offers a blend of tidying, household organization, errands, and general household assistance.
The family is looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining clean floors and an organized, and welcoming home while being comfortable managing a variety of household needs. This is not a deep-cleaning position. More intensive cleaning services are outsourced when needed.
The ideal candidate is exceptionally self-sufficient, observant, and resourceful. The household values someone who notices what needs attention, takes initiative without being asked, and can confidently manage responsibilities with minimal oversight. This is a high-trust position, and the successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, exercising sound judgment, and communicating thoughtfully with the principals.
The household also has cats who are shy and somewhat anxious, so a gentle, patient approach and genuine comfort with feline care are especially important. When the principals travel, approximately four times per year, they would appreciate someone who can provide occasional house and pet-sitting support, including twice-daily visits to care for the cats and check on the home.
The family is open to both full-time and part-time candidates, with the following scheduling options:
Full-Time Schedule:Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM (40 hours per week).
Part-Time Schedule:20 hours per week across a minimum of three weekdays, with a strong preference for five days per week at approximately four hours per day. Hours may be scheduled flexibly between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Both arrangements offer a high degree of independence and autonomy for a dependable, self-directed professional. The family is hoping to welcome someone as soon as possible.
