As a Part-Time Meat Cutter Apprentice, you’ll receive hands-on training while working alongside certified Meat Cutters to build the skills needed to become a certified Meat Cutter. The program includes training in fresh beef and pork cutting, packaging, merchandising, equipment operation, food safety, and sanitation.

 

What You’ll Do:

• Learn to cut and prepare fresh beef and pork to Meijer specifications
• Wrap, package, label, stock, and merchandise fresh meat products
• Follow production schedules to keep fresh meat cases stocked
• Learn proper grinding procedures and safe equipment operation
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and equipment safety standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Complete required hands-on training, learning courses, and certification assessments
• Work alongside certified Meat Cutters throughout the apprenticeship program
