Job Summary:

The Communications & Public Relations Specialist will play an important role in advancing and protecting the reputation of Trane Technologies through strong execution of public relations, thought leadership and corporate communications programs. Reporting to the Head of Global Communications, this role supports high-impact communications initiatives that strengthen brand visibility, elevate executive and company positioning, and align closely with business priorities.

This individual will partner across communications, PR, marketing, business and function teams and external agencies to help deliver integrated communications strategies and day-to-day execution across media relations, executive visibility, thought leadership, reputation management, awards and recognition, and selected internal communications initiatives. The role requires a highly organized, proactive communicator who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, bring strong judgment to fast-moving opportunities, and help drive operational excellence through effective tracking, collaboration and measurement.

What you will do:

  • Support the development and execution of public relations and communications strategies that build brand visibility, support company objectives, and strengthen Trane Technologies’ reputation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support thought leadership programs, media engagement and strategic communications initiatives that position Trane Technologies and its leaders prominently in the market.
  • Create, edit and manage a range of communications materials, including press releases, messaging documents, briefing materials, backgrounders, bylined articles, speaking materials, media materials and other strategic content.
  • Support M&A, crisis and issues communications by helping develop messaging and communications materials, monitoring emerging risks and media coverage, coordinating cross-functional response activities, and assisting with the execution of related communications plans.
  • Help prepare and support executive spokespeople for media interviews, speaking engagements, thought leadership opportunities and other high-visibility external engagements.
  • Support media relations activities by building and maintaining key media relationships, helping manage media inquiries, coordinating interview requests, maintaining strong messaging discipline and contributing to proactive media engagement efforts.
  • Help manage the company Media mailbox, ensuring timely responses, coordination and routing of media inquiries to the appropriate teams and stakeholders.
  • Help lead the daily media monitoring program by assessing company, competitor and industry coverage; identifying relevant insights and risks; and sharing actionable updates with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the Trane Technologies awards program, including maintaining the awards calendar, coordinating and supporting award submissions, promoting awards won, and managing award-related licensing.
  • Help track communications activities, project status, metrics and deliverables using available project management tools to support visibility, collaboration, operational efficiency and strong cross-functional project management.
  • Help monitor and analyze performance metrics, media results and program outcomes, and provide insights and recommendations to improve effectiveness and impact.
  • Support planning, scheduling and publishing coordination across relevant teams, agencies and channels as needed to amplify communications initiatives.
  • Work effectively within a matrixed organization, building strong relationships and serving as a trusted communications partner across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Help drive operational excellence by managing priorities effectively, balancing strategic and tactical work, and delivering high-quality execution across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and leverage AI and communications technology tools to help automate and enhance media reporting, monitoring, and reputation measurement programs, increasing efficiency, consistency, and insight generation.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in communications/public relations, ideally within B2B brands.
  • Proven success in developing and executing PR programs within a global corporate environment.
  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation abilities.
  • Hands-on experience managing media relations, including building reporter relationships, pitching stories, and supporting spokespersons.
  • Strong ability to partner, consult, and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Effective balance of strategic thinking and practical execution to drive change and achieve results.
  • Strong presentation skills for communicating complex information to various audiences.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Creative and operational mindset with strong organizational, analytical, time-management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to think critically, establish strategic plans, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Results-oriented, self-driven, and internally motivated.
  • Strong business acumen and proven leadership skills.
  • A "growth mindset" with a passion for continuous improvement and a bias for action.
