Activities Team Leader at Broomgrove Nursing Home An exciting opportunity has arisen at Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home for the position of Activities Team Leader, who possesses a genuine commitment to providing high quality service to our residents, under the direction of the Registered Manager.This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role within our established Activities team in a friendly and professional environment within our charitable organisation. You will be supported by a dedicated team and will help shape and expand the variety and quality of activities we offer across the home.About you:Minimum 2 years’ experience in an activities role within a UK care or elderly settingTeaching assistant or Care assistant experience will also be consideredPrevious team leadership or supervisory experience (desirable)Customer service experience is a bonusA professional, friendly and approachable attitudeA quick learner, able to implement our staff values within the teamMotivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to mentor and support team membersDrive and focus to provide excellent customer service and quality of careExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsUp-to-date understanding of care service practices, legislation, regulations and standardsResponsibilities:Lead and support the Activities team in delivering a varied programme of activities and entertainmentPlan, co-ordinate and oversee a rolling programme of recreational and therapeutic activitiesEnsure activities are delivered safely, inclusively and effectively, tailored to residents’ needsUse creative crafts and activities as therapeutic tools to promote emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeingStay informed of current developments in elderly care, including dementia and palliative care, and reflect these in activity planningIdentify opportunities for improvement within the activities programme and implement solutionsSupport, mentor and guide Activities staff to maintain high standardsWork collaboratively with care staff, residents and familiesEnsure effective communication of activity schedules to residentsValues & Care StandardsMaintain residents’ dignity, independence, and individualityEnsure confidentiality at all timesPromote a positive and supportive team environmentWorking HoursDays – Full Time (30 hours/week)5 shifts per week - 10:00 - 16:00 (including some weekends)Flexible scheduling availablePay & Benefits£13.61 per hour (Mon–Fri)£16.33 per hour (weekends)£20.42 (bank holidays)£27.22 (Christmas Day & New Year’s Day)30 days annual leave (pro rata), increasing with servicePaid DBS checkFree uniform & onsite parkingMeals available on siteDeath in Service schemeTraining and development opportunitiesImportant InformationThis role is subject to:Enhanced DBS check6-month probation periodUnfortunately, sponsorship is NOT availableNo agency applications acceptedApplication deadline: 05/07/2026Due to application volume, only shortlisted candidates will be contactedAdvert is not for AGENCIES!
