Job Summary:
The Manufacturing & Quality Engineer is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence and quality performance across HBK's production operations. This role supports the manufacture of highly precise sensing, data acquisition, and test & measurement products by improving processes, reducing waste, enhancing product reliability, and ensuring compliance with quality management system requirements.
The Manufacturing & Quality Engineer partners closely with Production, R&D Engineering, Supply Chain, Calibration, and Quality teams to support new product introductions, resolve manufacturing challenges, improve yields, and deliver products that meet customer expectations for performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Portion
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for assembly, test, calibration, and inspection activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews during product development and new product introduction (NPI) activities
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, and first-pass yield
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, workstations, and process improvements
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing issues
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve manufacturing capability and product quality
Quality Portion
- Support and maintain compliance with HBK's Quality Management System
- Develop and maintain control plans, inspection methods, and quality standards
- Lead investigations of nonconforming materials, customer complaints, and internal quality issues
- Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving tools
- Utilize quality tools including SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, Fishbone Analysis, and Pareto Analysis
- Monitor and report key quality metrics including yield, scrap, rework, customer returns, and defect trends
- Support internal, customer, and external quality audits
- Ensure products meet applicable regulatory, customer, and industry requirements
Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance quality and reduce operational costs
- Facilitate Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement projects
- Develop metrics and dashboards to measure operational and quality performance
- Train production personnel on quality standards, process controls, and best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 3+ years of manufacturing and/or quality engineering experience in a high-tech, instrumentation, electronics, sensor, or precision manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience with SAP system and manufacturing data analysis
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations and quality systems in an ISO-certified environment
- Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and process validation preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis and CAPA processes
- Experience with SPC, FMEA, MSA, and process capability analysis
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering data analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Experience with electronic assembly, sensor manufacturing, calibration, or precision instrumentation.
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 annually plus a potential yearly bonus of 10%. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
