Billing Manager, Revenue Cycle Management

The Company

Soar is an innovative healthcare provider building a network of centers where children with autism and their families receive comprehensive, individualized care that helps them thrive.

Our care model emphasizes early intervention, integrated services, and developmentally appropriate learning. We work closely with families to create individualized therapy plans, set meaningful goals, and build skills that support each child’s growth. Our approach brings together specialized autism care, including the Early Start Denver Model, with coordinated services tailored to each child and family.

Our Billing team plays an essential role in that work by supporting accurate reimbursement, clear communication, and dependable day-to-day operations.

    The Role

    • Soar is seeking a Billing Manager, Revenue Cycle Management to lead the daily operations of our Billing team. Reporting to the Director of Central Operations – Billing
    • This role directly manages five Billing Specialists and is accountable for accurate, timely execution across claims, payment posting, denials, accounts receivable, and family billing.
    • The Billing Manager translates departmental priorities into repeatable workflows, clear assignments, measurable expectations, and consistent results. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, solving operational problems, and building processes that can grow with the organization.
    • The role is a strong fit for an organized, analytical people leader who combines operational discipline with compassion. We are looking for someone who can independently manage a high volume of work, develop a capable team, and turn recurring challenges into lasting improvements.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Team leadership and development: Lead, coach, and develop five Billing Specialists through clear expectations, regular feedback, performance management, and career development. Allocate workloads, establish daily priorities, and hold team members accountable for productivity, quality, and follow-through.
    • Daily billing operations: Oversee claim submission, claim corrections, payment posting, denial resolution, accounts receivable follow-up, secondary billing, and family invoicing. Maintain clear ownership of work queues and address backlogs, missed deadlines, and unresolved items.
    • Performance management and analysis: Define and monitor productivity, accuracy, timeliness, clean-claim rates, denial trends, payment-posting performance, and accounts receivable aging. Use operational and financial data to prioritize work, diagnose root causes, and measure improvement.
    • Escalation management: Resolve operational and claim-level escalations, ensuring issues have clear owners and next steps. Identify recurring problems and elevate issues requiring Director-level decisions or coordination across departments.
    • Standard operating procedures and quality: Develop, maintain, and reinforce standard operating procedures, training materials, quality controls, escalation paths, and payer-specific guidance. Use quality reviews and recurring errors to inform coaching and process improvements.
    • Process improvement and implementation: Translate approved automation, system changes, vendor workflows, policies, and new-market requirements into practical team workflows. Coordinate training, clarify responsibilities, and monitor adoption and results.
    • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner other RCM teams, Finance, and Technology to resolve dependencies affecting billing accuracy, claim submission, and reimbursement.
    • Compliance: Ensure billing workflows follow applicable federal, state, Medicaid, commercial-payer, and contractual requirements. Keep operating guidance current as requirements change.

    Required qualifications

    • 3+ years of progressive experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management; with preference for ABA autism services, behavioral health, or pediatric therapy billing practices
    • 2+ years of direct people-management, supervisory, or formal team-lead experience, with demonstrated ability to delegate, coach performance, and hold others accountable.
    • Strong working knowledge of commercial insurance and Medicaid billing, including claims processing, payment posting, denial resolution, and accounts receivable follow-up.
    • Excellent organizational and project-management skills, including proactive tracking of high-volume work, deadlines, payer requirements, and dependencies.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using financial and operational data to identify trends, prioritize action, and diagnose root causes.
    • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
    • Commitment to Soar’s mission and values of teamwork, innovation, compassion, and excellence.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Experience directly managing two or more employees, with demonstrated success coaching team members, supporting career growth, and developing future team leaders.
    • Working knowledge of ABA CPT codes 97151–97158 and billing for speech therapy, occupational therapy, diagnostic, and medical services.
    • Experience with CentralReach or a comparable ABA practice-management system.
    • Experience supporting billing across multiple states, payers, and service lines.

    Compensation

    • Compensation for this role is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00/year (base + bonus), depending on experience and qualifications.
