Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Specialized Finance Analyst will support TDS leverage calculation and reporting processes, including ongoing daily and monthly regulatory and management reporting deliverables. The Senior Analyst will apply OSFI Leverage Ratio requirements, provide analysis and guidance to business partners and stakeholders, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen calculation accuracy, process efficiency, governance, and controls. The role will also provide meaningful analysis and advice to support strategic decision-making, influence business behaviour, and promote optimal balance sheet usage across Wholesale Banking.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert for team processes, leverage calculation methodology, and applicable regulatory guidance
- Calculate leverage exposures for Wholesale Banking in accordance with OSFI Leverage Ratio requirements and perform related regulatory and management reporting
- Interpret OSFI Leverage Ratio requirements in the context of current processes, methodologies, and assumptions, and proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies, and control enhancements
- Lead the identification, development, and implementation of leverage optimization opportunities, process improvements, and governance activities for the team
- Partner with other lines of business within Finance, Front Office, Risk, and Technology teams to deliver key initiatives and promote a consistent understanding of OSFI requirements and leverage calculations
- Perform independent, end-to-end analysis to investigate and resolve calculation or reporting issues and respond to ad hoc inquiries
- Support the documentation and ongoing enhancement of methodologies, procedures, controls, and reporting processes
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Sound understanding of wholesale banking products, including securities financing transactions, fixed income products, and loans, together with a strong grasp of quantitative data analysis
- Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex issues where clear procedural guidance may not exist
- Proactive, self-starter mindset and willingness to develop a thorough understanding of team processes and the team’s role within the broader Wholesale Banking organization
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, with experience using SQL or Python to analyze large and complex datasets
- Foundational understanding of OSFI leverage requirements and regulatory reporting principles
- Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated focus on the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of calculations and reporting outputs
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work across functions to understand issues and clearly articulate potential solutions
Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:
- CFA, FRM, CPA or equivalent designation considered an asset
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or related field
Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
