Description
Summary: Leads Stellar product lines from concept through life cycle management to drive profitable growth, customer value, operational flexibility, and market leadership. This position develops product strategy, guides innovation priorities, and aligns cross-functional teams around scalable initiatives that support the Company’s long-term growth objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Product Management:
• Develop, coach, and lead a team of Product Managers, establishing performance expectations, talent development plans, succession readiness, and organizational capability to support Stellar’s growth strategy.
• Define and lead product strategy, vision, roadmaps, and portfolio priorities for service truck equipment, balancing customer needs, manufacturing capability, profitability, speed to market, competitive positioning, and long-term growth.
• Use data, market insight, and performance metrics to guide product decisions, including sales forecasts, portfolio health, customer value, profitability, competitive trends, industry requirements, and opportunities for differentiation.
• Lead cross-functional product execution with sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, service, and leadership teams to align priorities, remove barriers, support brand, regulatory, and safety requirements, and deliver product commitments.
• Build and lead a high-performing product management team by setting objectives, clarifying responsibilities, supporting open communication, reinforcing company values through behavior, and adapting roles as business needs evolve.
• Maintain strong customer, dealer, field, and industry engagement to understand unmet needs, validate product direction, support industry association involvement, and ensure product decisions reflect real-world service truck applications.
• Develop and maintain a multi-year innovation pipeline aligned with customer needs, technology trends, competitive threats, and strategic growth opportunities.
Strategic Planning:
• Partner with leadership to shape, communicate, and execute the Company’s strategy by translating growth objectives into actionable product priorities, investment decisions, and execution plans.
• Thoroughly understand competitive positioning, customer needs, market economics, and business metrics to identify threats, opportunities, and areas for product differentiation.
• Analyze industry trends, leading indicators and market changes.
• Assist with coordinated due diligence regarding acquisition opportunities.
• Lead special strategic projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
This position will have constant interaction with all levels of the Stellar organization as well as customers and suppliers:
• Proven work experience in product management
• Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in machinery, work truck equipment, service truck applications, manufacturing processes, and associated technologies.
• Strong customer-facing capabilities, with the ability to engage customers, dealers, and field teams to understand needs, communicate product direction, and represent the Company professionally.
• Experience with or working knowledge of new product development processes, including concept evaluation, requirements definition, cross-functional development, launch readiness, and post-launch feedback.
• Strong product judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate trade-offs, make sound recommendations, and lead decisions in ambiguous or fast-changing situations.
• Demonstrated leadership through influence, with the ability to align cross-functional teams, guide priorities, drive accountability, and support timely decisions that balance customer, operational, and business needs.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to translate product strategy, market insight, and business priorities into clear direction.
• Good understanding of company policies, procedures, and operating standards, with the ability to apply them consistently while supporting practical, growth-oriented decision-making.
Education and/or Experience:
• Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Numerical abilities and problem-solving attitude
• 5 or more years of product management, product leadership, or related commercial leadership experience is preferred, with demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple product lines, and drive growth in a manufacturing or equipment-focused business. Director-level experience is a plus, but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, product management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Travel:
• Regular travel is required based on business needs; some out-of-area, out-of-state, and international travel is expected, which may include weekends.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Technology Skills:
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of how technology supports product management, business decision-making, customer insight, and cross-functional execution.
• Actively utilizes AI-enabled tools, data platforms, enterprise systems, and other technology resources to improve productivity, analyze information, identify opportunities, and support faster, more informed decisions.
• Maintains curiosity and adaptability with emerging technology, with the ability to learn, evaluate, and apply new tools that will be needed to support product strategy, innovation, and scalable business growth.
