Responsibilities

The Opportunity

The Payroll Controls, Compliance & Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and governing critical payroll operational processes while ensuring compliance with established controls, policies, service level agreements (SLAs), and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a key liaison between Payroll Operations, HR, Finance, Payroll Vendors, Internal Controls, and Business stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy, operational excellence, and effective risk management. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operational activities, the Coordinator plays a critical role in driving process governance, controls standardization, documentation management, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives across payroll operations. The position is expected to proactively identify control gaps, standardize operating procedures, enhance process documentation, and support the implementation of scalable and sustainable payroll governance practices.

 

Your Impact

As Payroll Audit Sr. Coordinator your responsibilities would consist of:

 

  • Coordinate the execution of critical payroll operational activities, ensuring adherence to established procedures, controls, and service commitments.
  • Monitor operational performance, workload distribution, and process compliance across assigned teams.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex operational issues, payroll exceptions, and stakeholder concerns.
  • Facilitate effective communication and alignment between Payroll Operations, Payroll Vendors, HR, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead the standardization and harmonization of payroll controls across processes, regions, and operational teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Establish best practices and governance routines to improve payroll accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Own and maintain payroll process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Desktop Procedures (DTPs), process flows, RACI models, control narratives, and governance materials.
  • Monitor and analyze operational KPIs, control metrics, compliance indicators, and service performance trends.
  • Develop executive-level reporting, dashboards, and presentations to communicate operational performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide functional leadership, coaching, and guidance to Analysts and Sr. Analysts.

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Payroll Operations, Internal Controls, Compliance, Audit, Shared Services, HR Operations, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing payroll controls, governance activities, process documentation, and compliance programs. Experience supporting audits, risk assessments, control testing, and remediation activities.
  • Experience leading process improvement, standardization, or transformation initiatives.
  • Previous experience coordinating teams, projects, or cross-functional operational activities is preferred.
  • Solid to advanced English proficiency is required
