Area Manager

Description

The Area Manager is a field-focused leadership role responsible for supporting the day-to day performance, service quality, and development of an assigned team. This position spends the majority of its time in the field, providing hands-on coaching, training, quality oversight, and operational support. 

The Area Manager serves as a lead resource for field employees and works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure company standards, safety expectations, and customer service goals are consistently met. Formal disciplinary action and employment decisions remain the responsibility of the Operations Manager in partnership with Human Resources. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and support to an assigned team of field employees. 
•  Maintain a strong field presence through ride-alongs, quality checks, field observations, and employee coaching. 
•  Train and develop employees on operational procedures, service standards, safety, and customer expectations. 
•  Monitor productivity, service quality, route execution, and overall employee performance. 
•  Identify performance or conduct concerns and communicate them to the Operations Manager for appropriate follow-up. 
•  Conducts annual performance reviews; including creation of the annual review and covering the annual review with the employee.  
•  Assist employees with troubleshooting operational, equipment, service, and customer concerns. 
•  Respond to escalated customer issues requiring field-level support. 
•  Reinforce company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. 
•  Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and overall field performance. 
•  Support the Operations Manager with operational initiatives, staffing coverage, and communication with field teams. 
•  Serve as a positive leadership presence and help promote accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.

Qualifications

•  Previous field operations, service, lead, or supervisory experience preferred. 
•  Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
•  Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions. 
•  Customer-service focused with a strong commitment to quality and safety. 
•  Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements. 
•  Ability and willingness to spend the majority of working time in the field.
