Overview
Employee Relations Representative:
The Employee Relations professionals at Electric Boat serve as a strategic partner to leadership and HR teams by managing employee relations matters, conducting workplace investigations, and advising leadership on disciplinary actions and termination decisions. This position focuses on resolving employee issues, mitigating organizational risk, and fostering a fair and compliant workplace environment. In this role the selected candidate must be able to develop relationships quickly and earn trust with their client groups. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to support HR and the overall business strategy are required. Candidates would be available to work all 3 shifts and extended hours/weekends as needed.
In addition to the above the selected person will also be responsible for:
- Investigate violations of company policies and procedures and issue corrective action as necessary
- Advise managers on progressive discipline and termination decisions
- Manage escalated employee conflicts
- Partner with legal, security and medical on sensitive terminations or litigation risks
- Facilitate a strong leadership and coaching culture
- Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends
- Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve HR policies and initiatives
This position is located in North Kingstown, RI and is onsite.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have at least 3 years Human Resources, Leadership or Investigation experience
- Must be able to work extended hours including weekends as business needs dictate
- Ability to work all shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Employee Relations or Labor Relations experience
- Working knowledge of national and state employment laws (ADA, FMLA, etc.)
- 5 years Human Resources, Leadership or Investigation experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
