We are looking for a Junior Product Cost Engineer to join our Friction Tech Team in Barge (CN) on a fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave.
Reporting to the Cost Engineering Manager, you will work in a high-performing, inclusive and collaborative environment, supporting Product Cost Engineering activities for Friction Technologies worldwide.
In this role, you will contribute to the estimation of product technical costs and the creation of target costs for purchased components. You will support the development and maintenance of tools and methodologies used to estimate and budget the different cost elements of a product, including raw materials, semi-finished products, manufacturing processes and labor costs.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a global manufacturing organization and collaborate with multiple functions while developing expertise in cost engineering.
Responsabilità essenziali
As part of the Product Cost Engineering team, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the estimation of product technical costs using established methodologies and tools
- Assisting in the cost analysis of purchased components
- Supporting the Sales team in cost optimization activities during quotation preparation
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of cost models used for product cost estimation
- Identifying opportunities to improve cost estimation processes and tools
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management and Technical Office
The role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and the willingness to develop a deep understanding of products, production processes and cost drivers.
Requisiti di posizione
- Degree in technical fields, preferably Management Engineering
- Proficient use of IT tools, particularly Excel and SAP (or other ERP systems)
- Good knowledge of the English language
- Knowledge of cost analysis methodologies
- Basic understanding of industrial and manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and functions
- Previous experience in Cost Engineering or a related analytical/industrial role (preferred)We offer
