Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

HJ Staffing is seeking dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for opportunities at the Denton State Supported Living Center (DSSLC). In this role, you will perform advanced vocational nursing work, providing high-quality care, treatment, and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, complex medical conditions, and mental or behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: Administer medications and treatments, educate patients on medications, and maintain thorough clinical documentation.
• Documentation & Data Entry: Accurately enter and maintain patient data into facility computer systems (full training provided).
• Compliance & Standards: Adhere strictly to facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ICF-IDD Regulations, DSSLC Policies and Directives, and Texas HHSC Standards, Rules, and Directives.

Position & Shift Information

• Contract Length: 6-month contract (start date begins once all compliance/clearance requirements are met).
• Shift Schedules Available:
  • 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (6 positions available)
  • 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (2 positions available)
• Days: Sunday through Saturday (alternating shifts to support facility staffing needs).
• Start Date Flexibility: Ability to start any day of the week, provided 5 days advance notice is given to complete pre-employment processing.

Requirements & Qualifications

• License: Active, valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the State of Texas (or compact license).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Compliance & Screening:
  • Must meet Texas HHSC immunization requirements.
  • Must pass HHSC-required drug screening.
  • Must complete HHSC-required fingerprinting and background checks.
  • Must complete facility and HHSC required onboarding training.
