The Opportunity

An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their Yatala team, taking ownership of estimating and tendering across a diverse range of commercial HVAC projects.

Working closely with experienced Project Managers, you will have the autonomy to manage tenders, influence commercial outcomes and contribute to securing new projects.

With experience across projects valued up to $50M, the business offers exposure to a broad portfolio of work, with the immediate focus on smaller commercial projects ranging from $500K–$3M.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare competitive estimates, budgets, D&C tenders, GMP submissions and negotiated pricing.

• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation to develop accurate cost estimates.

• Price HVAC plant, ductwork, pipework, controls and associated mechanical services.

• Liaise with builders, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to develop competitive solutions.

• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options.

• Collaborate with Project Managers to support tender handovers and project delivery.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator with strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and a proactive approach.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Mechanical estimating experience across Tier 1 and Tier 2 construction projects.

• Experience pricing healthcare, infrastructure, commercial and warehousing developments.

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical services installations.

• Experience preparing D&C tenders, budgets, GMP submissions and negotiated pricing.

• Established industry relationships and strong commercial negotiation skills.

• An engineering background, on-site delivery experience or trade qualification will be highly regarded.
