Description
What You'll Do
You'll join Avalara's Enterprise Partner Ecosystems team, supporting the leader of our enterprise partner and Global System Integrator (GSI) strategy with executive reporting, special projects, and the operational infrastructure needed for a fast-growing function. Your work will directly shape how leadership sees the business and how we reactivate and strengthen key GSI relationships, giving you real ownership rather than a pre-built playbook to execute. Unlike similar roles elsewhere, you'll have genuine latitude to bring AI and automation into how the team operates, not just tolerate it as a buzzword, while building a track record that opens doors to broader strategic leadership within the Partner organization. This role reports to the team's leader and is remote within the United States.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be
On a typical day, you'll build executive-ready reporting and dashboards, translate leadership priorities into structured plans with clear owners and milestones, and coordinate with internal teams to keep enterprise partner and GSI initiatives moving forward. You'll maintain the documentation, trackers, and playbooks that keep the team's work transparent and scalable, and you'll look for opportunities to use AI and automation to speed up reporting and reduce manual upkeep. Day to day, you'll work primarily in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Confluence, along with tools like Smartsheet and Salesforce for tracking and partner data.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- 5+ years of experience in strategic initiatives, business operations, or program management, including managing cross-functional projects from planning through delivery
- Experience building executive-level reporting, dashboards, or presentations for senior leadership audiences
- Hands-on experience applying or testing AI tools within a real workflow, such as automating reporting, documentation, or data analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, demonstrated through building models, dashboards, or leadership-facing presentations
- Experience maintaining documentation, trackers, or playbooks that support a team's day-to-day operations
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
