Job Description
Old Mutual Namibia is looking for an experienced Business Development professional as Head of Broker Distribution in our Personal Finance Business Unit. In this role, you will lead the Broker Distribution strategy and channel performance, drive sustainable sales growth, strengthen broker and stakeholder relationships, and ensure effective resource management, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.- Strategy: Develop the Broker Distribution strategy and translate business priorities into clear direction for the Broker Distribution teams and broader value network.
- Market Intelligence: Maintain strong insight into regional markets and economic opportunities.
- Business Growth: Identify growth opportunities within existing and new broker segments.
- Marketing: Craft and oversee the Personal Finance savings and investment product marketing strategy.
- Sales Performance: Optimize performance and resource allocation to achieve sales and productivity targets across the Broker Distribution Channel.
- Financial Management: Manage channel economics and operating expenses.
- Strategic Partnering: Manage and strengthen the relationship between Personal Finance distribution channels and savings product teams to ensure alignment and growth.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage all stakeholders, including brokers and management across the Personal Finance value chain.
- Relationship Management: Build strong relationships, foster networking and manage external relations.
- People Leadership: Build a high-performance culture within the channel.
- Resource Management: Manage resources, including markets and technology, and utilize support processes to ensure targets are met.
- Contract Management: Manage intermediary contracting, administration and regulatory compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations.
- Risk Management: Ensure the effective mitigation of financial and operational risks across the business.
Minimum Requirements:
- Namibian Citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) plus relevant sales/post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ experience at senior managerial level in the insurance industry
- Life and investment product knowledge is advantageous
- Track record of sales and sales management successes and proven ability in establishing and growing sales.
- Understanding of broker market
- Understanding of relevant industry legislation and trends
- Innovative and proactive
- Strong oral and written communication skills and use of facilitation, influencing and relationship building skills
