• Tuesday: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
• Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Additional Friday - Sunday coverage may be available
• Schedule may vary around holidays based on operational needs
   

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer for an active outdoor patrol assignment in Colorado Springs. This position requires a consistent security presence throughout assigned parking areas, regular foot patrols, attention to safety concerns, and professional interaction with individuals on the property.

This is a fully outdoor position requiring frequent walking throughout the shift. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, remaining attentive for extended periods, interacting with the public, and performing security duties in varying weather conditions.

The ideal candidate is reliable, observant, professional, and able to communicate calmly when handling routine security concerns or difficult interactions.
 

Key Responsibilities

Outdoor Patrol & Security Monitoring

• Conduct scheduled foot patrols throughout assigned parking areas and surrounding areas.
• Maintain a visible security presence to help deter unwanted, disruptive, or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor the property for suspicious activity, safety concerns, hazards, and conditions requiring attention.
• Complete designated patrol routes consistently throughout each assigned shift.
• Scan NFC checkpoints along patrol routes to verify completed rounds and maintain accurate patrol records.
• Remain alert and observant while walking assigned areas and monitoring changing conditions.
   

Calls for Service & Property Assistance

• Respond to occasional calls for service in accordance with established procedures and post orders.
• Provide reasonable security-related assistance to property management when requested.
• Assess situations, gather relevant information, and communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor or designated contact.
• Professionally communicate with individuals who need to be escorted from the property when directed and appropriate.
• Use calm, respectful communication and appropriate de-escalation techniques when addressing challenging situations.
• Request additional assistance when an incident falls outside the scope of assigned responsibilities.
   

Communication & Public Interaction

• Interact professionally and respectfully with customers, employees, visitors, and other individuals on the property.
• Provide basic assistance or directions when appropriate.
• Clearly explain security procedures and address routine questions or concerns in a courteous manner.
• Maintain a professional and approachable presence throughout all interactions.
• Represent Citadel Security USA with reliability, professionalism, and respect.
   

Reporting & Accountability

• Document patrol activity, calls for service, incidents, safety concerns, and significant observations.
• Promptly report hazards, property concerns, and actionable issues to the appropriate contact.
• Complete required electronic reports and patrol verification accurately.
• Maintain reliable documentation throughout each assigned shift.
• Follow established post orders, company procedures, reporting standards, and applicable licensing requirements.
   

Position Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Colorado Guard Card; an active Guard Card is preferred.
• Ability to perform frequent walking and remain outdoors for extended periods during changing weather conditions.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Professional demeanor and the ability to remain calm during challenging interactions.
• Ability to use sound judgment and appropriate de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to remain attentive throughout the assigned shift.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication and accountability.
• Must meet all applicable Colorado requirements for unarmed security licensing.
